摘要： An apparatus includes a mechanical refrigeration cycle arrangement in turn including an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor, and an expansion device, cooperatively interconnected. A drum is provided to receive clothes to be dried. An auxiliary heater is included, as is a duct and fan arrangement configured to pass air over the condenser and the heater, and through the drum. A sensor is located to sense high side temperature and/or high side pressure of the mechanical refrigeration cycle arrangement. A controller is coupled to the sensor and the auxiliary heater, and is operative to: activate the auxiliary heater during a startup transient of the mechanical refrigeration cycle arrangement; monitor the high side temperature and/or high side pressure, during the startup transient; and de-activate the auxiliary heater in response to the high side temperature and/or high side pressure reaching a first predetermined value.

摘要： A household refrigerator having a freezer compartment with a rear wall, top wall, side walls, bottom wall and an open front. An evaporator unit is mounted in a space in front of the rear wall of the freezer compartment and there is a vertical panel separating the evaporator unit from the rest of the freezer compartment to form an evaporator compartment between the panel and rear wall. The bottom wall of the freezer compartment has a plurality of upwardly open grooves extending from the front section of the freezer compartment under the vertical panel and into the evaporator compartment. A cover is hingedly connected to the panel for movement to a raised position above the bottom wall for access to the grooves in the bottom wall for cleaning and to a lowered position horizontal to the bottom wall to provide a flat level shelf area for storage items in the freezer compartment.

摘要： An apparatus for making frozen food products, particularly ice cream or the like, wherein the apparatus is interchangeable with the existing ice dispenser unit in the freezer compartment of a domestic refrigerator provided with an automatic ice maker unit, which apparatus includes a housing for containing the frozen food product mix, an auger blade disposed within the housing for stirring the mix during convection heat exchange between the mix and the interior of the freezer compartment, a drive assembly for detachably connecting either the auger blade or mix housing to the existing ice dispenser unit drive motor, and a user operated timer assembly for actuating the drive motor to operate same for a predetermined period of time in accordance with the desired consistency of the final product. A switch assembly is incorporated in the circuitry of the refrigerator for direct activation by the timer assembly for the dual purpose of operating the drive motor and placing the refrigerator compressor in continuous operation. An integral timer is preferably disposed in the switch assembly circuit for causing cyclical operation of the drive motor to prevent failure of same which might otherwise occur during its continuous operation.

The controller is operative to adjust the condenser to increase surface area during a steady state drying rate period of the cycle, and adjust the condenser to decrease surface area during a start transient period of the cycle, wherein adjusting the condenser to decrease surface area during a start transient period of the cycle accelerates the start transient period of the cycle.
