Abstract: A coupling for connection of a tube comprises a coupling housing which includes a first end into which the tube is inserted, a clamping ring which is positioned in the coupling housing against a first conical surface, a sealing ring which is positioned in the coupling housing, and a return ring which is positioned in the coupling housing between the clamping ring and a second end of the housing adjacent a second conical surface that is tapered opposite to the first conical surface. The return ring is expandable and comprises a central aperture which is smaller than the external diameter of the tube. Accordingly, when the tube is pushed into the coupling housing and forced through the return ring, the return ring will expand and move along the second conical surface.

Abstract: An improved process for preparing olefin sulfonic acids and sulfonates by the reaction of sulfur trioxide and an olefin mixture having 14 to 16 carbon atoms per molecule which includes at least 30 percent by weight dimer olefins is disclosed. The olefin mixture and sulfur trioxide are mixed and reacted in a reaction zone of a continuous falling film reactor apparatus having a segregated cooling jacket, wherein the upper 1/8 to 1/3 of the reaction zone is operated and maintained at a constant temperature of between about 0.degree. to below about 27.degree. C and the lower 7/8 to 2/3 of the reaction zone is operated and maintained at a higher constant temperature of between about 25.degree. to about 40.degree. C. The acidic reactor effluent is then aged prior to neutralization. The improved process produces a resulting product having a low oil content and low color at increased production rates while greatly reducing the off gas plume for improved air pollution abatement.

Abstract: A skateboard brake includes a heavy brush disposed below the skateboard and secured to a support bracket which is pivotally joined to a lower forward portion of the skateboard. The support bracket extends behind the rear wheels of the skateboard, and a plunger extends vertically from the support bracket through a slot in the rear end of the skateboard. The support bracket is resiliently biased upwardly to maintain the brush out of engagement with the pavement. A pedal is provided on the upper rear portion of the skateboard superjacent to the plunger, so that the skateboard rider may step on the brake, pedal and thereby force the plunger downwardly, the support bracket pivoting on the forward pivot and urging the brush into frictional engagement with the pavement.
