    摘要: A method of signaling in a computer network uses interception by a network device of a message transmitted by a client computer to a server. The message contains a Universal Resource Locator (URL), the URL having a reserved port designation. The network device parses the URL and intercepts the message in response to finding the reserved port designation in the URL. The network device executes a command, where the command is carried in a field of the intercepted message. The client computer receives the URL having the reserved port designation in a HTML file transmitted to the client computer by the server. The message containing the URL is transmitted by the client computer in response to a user requesting a resource displayed in a web page displayed by the client computer. A second web page is transmitted to the client computer by a server receiving a request for services, and the URL containing the port designation is written into the second web page so that the URL is executed automatically as the second web page is received by the client's browser. The method transmits a redirect message by the network device to the client computer, the redirect message redirecting to an address of a web page without the reserved port designation in the URL to carry information to the server.

    摘要: A test monitoring device for detecting a fault in a multicast routing infrastructure includes a processor, a memory coupled with the processor, and a network interface coupled with the processor. The device is configured to send a source configuration request for configuring a device in the infrastructure to be a test packet source, and a receiver configuration request for configuring one or more devices in the infrastructure to be test packet receivers where the test packet source sends out test packets to a predetermined group of test packet receivers. The source configuration request contains an identifier identifying the test monitoring device. The predetermined group has a group identifier. The device is also configured to examine data reports from the test packet receivers relating to a plurality of test packets sent by the test packet source.

    摘要: Protocols for messaging between a centralized network management system and other entities are described. According to one embodiment, in response to a request of a subscriber for joining a multicast group received at a centralized aggregation server, the centralized aggregation server transmits a port subscriber announcement (PSA) message to substantially all subscriber access multiplexers over an access network. The PSA message includes an identifier (ID) of the subscriber. In response to the PSA message, a subscriber access multiplexer having a subscriber matching the ID of the subscriber in the PSA message identifies a user port corresponding to the subscriber and applies a local service policy to the identified user port. Subsequent multicast messages destined to the subscriber are delivered by the subscriber access multiplexer to the subscriber based on the local service policy corresponding to the receiving subscriber without having the aggregation server handling the service policy of the receiving subscriber. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

A first key is assigned to the first group-source combination, and the first key is provided to the first cell site.
