Abstract:
A system includes a unit to receive triggering events from a network operator and a unit to provide media content to a terminal for playing by a media player on the terminal in response to the triggering events. One embodiment is implemented with an IMS (IP multimedia subsystem). In this embodiment, the unit to receive is an application server of an IMS system and the unit to provide has at least one media resource unit of the IMS system and a community server. The community server associates media content with terminals of the IMS system and in response to triggering events and activates the IMS system to provide media content to a relevant terminal in response to a relevant triggering event.
Abstract:
The invention provides a device and method for inserting a phrase in a message, wherein the message accompanies a data file representing a document that is sent from a multi-function device. The multi-function device uses a customizable phrasebook including a plurality of phrases that are each associated with an operator-actuated control, and wherein executing a selected operator-actuated control operates to insert the associated phrase in the message.
Abstract:
Method for shading one of a first plurality of sensing elements of an optical sensor. High-reflectivity and low-reflectivity reference values of the output signal of each of a second plurality of sensing elements of the sensor are obtained. An average or nominal high-reflectivity value of the high-reflectivity reference values for each sensing element of the second plurality is calculated. An average or nominal low-reflectivity value of the low-reflectivity reference values for each sensing element of the second plurality is calculated. An offset value for one of the sensing elements of the first plurality is calculated using at least the average or nominal high-reflectivity values and the average or nominal low-reflectivity values. The one sensing element of the first plurality is calibrated using at least the calculated offset value. In one example, the first plurality and the second plurality are identical.
Abstract:
Method for shading an optical sensing element of an optical sensor. Reference values are sequentially obtained of the output signal of the sensing element while relatively moving the optical sensor including the sensing element over a shading reference target. An edge detection filter is applied to each of the reference values obtained in step a) in determining if each of the reference values is or is not from an optical defect on the shading calibration strip. An average is calculated of the reference values obtained while excluding each of the reference values determined to be from any optical defect in calculating the average. The output signal of the sensing element is calibrated to the shading reference target using at least the calculated average.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to peptide analogs, antibody-drug conjugates comprising such compounds, pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds and conjugates, and methods of treating cancer with such compounds and conjugates.
Abstract:
A method, implementable on a mobile device, includes activating at least two of the output devices of the mobile device in response to a call-related activity, where the output devices include an audio/video device and at least one non-audio/video device, and stopping the activating when the call-related activity ends.
Abstract:
An imaging device having a removable media interface. The removable media interface can read from and/or write to the removable media. The removable media interface can be directly integrated into the imaging device or in can be indirectly coupled to the imaging device. The removable media can be used to, among other things, update codes on the imaging device, configure the imaging device, provide user authentication, provide access to other information, such as an address book, encryption, personal preferences, and/or documents. Documents or other stored information can be written to the storage device at a remote location or written to the storage device at the imaging device.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to providing a printing device which allows for user authentication. The printing device may communicate with the authentication device using universal serial bus (USB) protocol, wherein the printing device contains a universal serial bus (USB) host. User authentication may encompass the provision of valid identifying information or presenting sufficient funds as a condition prior to performing a print job or granting access to data.
Abstract:
Methods and devices for converting printed media into audio data. In one embodiment, a device includes a scanning platform for supporting the document to be scanned, a scanning mechanism for converting images on the document into image data, and a processor configured to convert the scanned image data into audio data. The device may further include printer components configured to create a hardcopy of the image data, an audio device such as a speaker, and an interface for outputting the image data or audio data.
Abstract:
A printer device receives and stores print-and-hold jobs. If a received print-and-hold job is a peer job, the printer device generates job data for communication to one or more peer printer devices. The printer device may include a print preview function and may provide a user with the ability to print a previewed document at a remote printer device.
