摘要: A display (1000) including a display panel (130) and a polarizer (110) disposed to receive a light (150) output of the display panel (130) is described. The polarizer (150) may be a reflective polarizer (110) or a circular polarizer (100) incorporating a reflective polarizer (110). The display panel (130) includes a plurality of pixels and each pixel includes a plurality of subpixels. The reflective polarizer (110) has a first reflection band, wherein at normal incidence, the first reflection band has a long wavelength band edge wavelength between peak emission wavelengths of two subpixels in the plurality of subpixels. The reflective polarizer (110) may be disposed between an absorbing polarizer (106) and a retarder (108) in a circular polarizer (100). The reflective polarizer (110) may have substantially non-overlapping first, second, and third reflection bands.

摘要: The present disclosure is directed to optical bodies including a first optical film, a second optical film and one or more strippable boundary layers disposed between the first and second optical films. Each major surface of a strippable boundary layer may be disposed adjacent to an optical film or another strippable boundary layer. At least one of the first and second optical films may include a reflective polarizer. The present disclosure is also directed to methods of processing such optical bodies.

摘要: An integral optical stack includes a lens film having first and second major surfaces. The first major surface includes microlenses having an average peak-to-valley height PV1. A light absorbing layer is disposed on the lens film and defines a plurality of openings. A substantially planarizing optically diffusive layer is disposed on the first major surface of the lens film, conforming to the microlenses. The optically diffusive layer includes a plurality of nanoparticles. A polymeric material bonds the nanoparticles to each other to form a plurality of nanoparticle aggregates defining a plurality of voids therebetween. The optically diffusive layer has an average thickness greater than about 8 microns, and an index of refraction of less than about 1.25. Any non-planarity of a major surface of the optically diffusive layer due to the microlenses of the first major surface has an average peak-to-valley height PV2, PV2≤0.7 PV1.

摘要: An integral optical stack includes a lens film having first and second major surfaces. The first major surface includes microlenses having an average peak-to-valley height PV1. 摘要: A reflective polarizer has substantially distinct blue, green and red-infrared reflection bands for substantially normally incident light. A display system includes a display panel including blue, green and red light emitting pixels having respective blue, green and red peak wavelengths and respective blue, green and red FWHMs; and the reflective polarizer disposed on the light emitting pixels. The reflective polarizer: reflects at least about 60% of the incident light for each of the blue and green peak wavelengths and at least about 40% of the incident light for the red peak wavelength for a first polarization state; transmits at least about 60% of the incident light for each of the blue, green and red peak wavelengths for an orthogonal second polarization state; and has an absorption peak at a wavelength between the green and red FWHMs.

The present disclosure also provides methods of processing optical bodies that include stretching the optical bodies.
