    Abstract: The invention relates to a control unit for a medium voltage switching apparatus. The control unit is adapted to carry out a diagnostic method to check operating conditions of one or more components of said electric poles. The diagnostic method includes the following steps: basing on a selected ideal position curve, obtaining one or more first curves indicative of an ideal behaviour of said switching apparatus, during an opening manoeuvre or closing manoeuvre of the switching apparatus; basing on detection signals provided by a closed-loop control arrangement of said control unit, calculating one or more second curves indicative of an actual behaviour of said switching apparatus, during an opening manoeuvre or closing manoeuvre of said switching apparatus; and carrying out a comparison procedure among said first and second curves.

    Abstract: An electronic charger for electric power distribution installations is provided. The electronic charger includes a DC/DC converter of the SEPIC type including an input stage, an output stage and a coupling capacitor. The input stage is electrically connected with input terminals and includes an input inductor and a switching device. The output stage is electrically connected with output terminals and includes an output inductor, an output capacitor and a blocking device. The coupling capacitor is configured to electrically couple the input stage and the output stage with a capacitive coupling. A first sensor provides a first sensing signal indicative of a charging current. A first controller receives the first sensing signal and a reference signal and provides a driving signal to control the switching device.

The method comprises initiate opening (S100) the circuit breaker, wherein the circuit breaker moves with an average opening speed of a contact pair of the circuit breaker, from a closed position to an open position of the circuit breaker, and decelerating (S110) the opening speed of the contact pair to below the average opening speed before the open position is reached to avoid overshoot, and initiate closing (S120) the circuit breaker, wherein the circuit breaker moves with an average closing speed of the contact pair, from the open position to the closed position, and decelerating (S130) the closing speed of the contact pair to below the average closing speed before contact touch at the closed position, wherein the circuit breaker moves with the decelerated speed at contact touch.     Abstract: A switching device for an electric circuit, the switching device comprising: at least one phase having a movable contact which can be coupled to/separated from a corresponding fixed contact; a kinematic chain operatively associated to the movable contact; driving means adapted to move the kinematic chain between a first position and a second position for actuating the movable contact; and control means adapted to control the driving means. The kinematic chain is adapted to reach the second position from the first position before reaching a dead-point position, and the control means are adapted to: detect a loss condition of a power supply associable to and suitable for operating the switching device, while the kinematic chain is in the second position; and control the driving means to move the kinematic chain away from the second position when the loss condition is detected, in such a way that the kinematic chain passes through the dead-point position and reaches a third position between the dead-point position and corresponding blocking means of the switching device.

    Abstract: A method is provided for determining the operating status a MV switching apparatus. The method includes providing a test signal to the test winding for an observation period of time, the test signal having a waveform capable of exciting the magnetic element; obtaining first measuring data indicative of a voltage at first terminals of the capacitor bank during the observation period of time; obtaining second measuring data indicative of a voltage at second terminals of the test winding and indicative of a current circulating along the test winding during the observation period of time; and, calculating estimation data indicative of the operating status of the capacitor bank at the end of the observation period of time on the basis of the first and second measuring data, the first estimation data comprising a first estimation value indicative of the capacitance of the capacitor bank.
