Abstract: A method for controlling power in a microgrid that includes power sources, loads and at least one connection to a main grid where a transformer is arranged to transfer electric power between the microgrid and the main grid is disclosed. The method includes: monitoring the power balance within the microgrid; monitoring the transformer, including monitoring the transformer temperature; and detecting a need for overloading the transformer based on the power balance within the microgrid. Especially, the method includes: determining a load profile for the transformer based on the power balance within the microgrid; determining a prognosis of the transformer temperature based on the load profile; and determining a schedule for power control of the microgrid, which determining of a schedule for power control includes analyzing the prognosis of the transformer temperature.

Abstract: A photovoltaic power plant system for power generation, comprising one or more photovoltaic clusters and one or more modular multilevel converters. Each photovoltaic cluster includes a number of photovoltaic strings connected to one or more MPPT DC/DC, converters connected to a common LVDC, bus. Each photovoltaic cluster includes a DC/DC converter including an input connected to the LVDC bus, and an output connected to a MVDC collection grid. Each of the one or more modular multilevel converters includes an input connected to the one or more photovoltaic clusters via the MVDC collection grid and an output connected to a transmission grid.

Abstract: A method of controlling a microgrid arrangement including a microgrid having a plurality of switches, and a plurality of Distributed Generators arranged for being connected to the microgrid. The method includes obtaining information about the microgrid arrangement. The method also includes, based on the obtained information, dynamically linking a first group of switches, of the plurality of switches, to each other. The method also includes detecting an event in the microgrid, and in response to the detection, automatically opening closed switches in the first group, whereby a first segment of the microgrid is disconnected from a second segment of the microgrid.
