摘要： A centrifugal separator for separating a liquid phase from a crankcase gas includes a housing, a separation chamber inside the housing, a rotor shaft, a rotor connected to the rotor shaft, a bearing arranged at an end portion of the rotor shaft, and a liquid outlet for the separated liquid phase. The end portion of the rotor shaft extends through the bearing outside the separation chamber. A ring-shaped sealing gap is formed between the housing and a member connected to the rotor shaft outside the separation chamber. The liquid outlet is arranged, seen in relation to the axial direction, radially outside the bearing and radially inside a radially outer end of the ring-shaped sealing gap.

The centrifugal separator further includes a control unit configured to control the drive member to rotate the rotating member at a first speed during a separation phase and at a second speed, which is higher than the first speed, during a cleaning phase to remove clogging on or between said separation members, wherein the cleaning phase is shorter in time than the separation phase.

摘要： A centrifugal separator for cleaning gas containing contaminants includes a stationary casing module including a surrounding side wall enclosing a separation space through which a gas flow is permitted, a gas outlet for cleaned gas, and at least one drainage opening for draining separated liquid contaminants from a lower portion of the stationary casing module; a rotating module including a plurality of separation members arranged in said separation space and being arranged to rotate around an axis of rotation; a drive member arranged for rotating the rotating module around the axis of rotation; and an inlet module arranged axially above the stationary casing module, including an inlet pipe for supply of the gas to be cleaned to the inlet module. The inlet module is in fluid contact with the separation space and a liquid outlet module arranged axially below the stationary casing module and configured to permit discharge of liquid contaminants drained from the stationary casing module. The liquid outlet module includes a lower base portion and at least one upwardly extending portion from the lower base portion. The at least one upwardly extending portion extends axially along the surrounding side wall of the stationary casing module such that the liquid outlet module forms an open container into which the stationary casing module is arranged. The liquid outlet module is attached to the stationary casing module via the at least one upwardly extending portion.

摘要： A housing for a centrifugal separator is disclosed, wherein the centrifugal separator is configured to separate a liquid phase from crankcase gases of an internal combustion engine using a rotor. The housing includes a housing body forming a separation chamber, an opening in the housing body, a bearing retainer arranged at the opening, and a bearing inserted into the bearing retainer. The bearing is configured to receive a rotor shaft extending into the separation chamber. The bearing retainer includes a bearing seat portion provided with a number of plastically deformed zones retaining the bearing in the bearing retainer. A centrifugal separator and a method of retaining a bearing of a rotor shaft in a housing for a centrifugal separator are also disclosed.
