摘要: In a modular centrifugal separator system and an exchangeable separation insert, a separation aid is arranged in a separation space of the separation insert. The separation aid includes a number of separation sheets, each separation sheet comprising axially extending surfaces. A fluid connection for a separated heavy phase is arranged at a first axial end portion of the insert, and a fluid connection for a liquid feed mixture is arranged at a second axial end portion of the insert.

摘要: A centrifugal separator includes a rotor arrangement and a drive arrangement. A user of electric energy is arranged in the rotor arrangement. The centrifugal separator includes a rotary transformer, the rotary transformer including a transformer stator and a transformer rotor. The transformer stator and the transformer rotor are arranged adjacent to each other with an airgap therebetween. The transformer rotor includes a secondary coil and is rotatable together with the rotor arrangement. The secondary coil is electrically connected to the user of electric energy arranged in the rotor arrangement for providing the user of electric energy with an electric current. The user of electric energy may be an actuator, and/or a sensor, and/or a control unit.

摘要: A rotor assembly (10, 150, 270, 310) and method of using the rotor assembly (10, 150, 270, 310). The rotor assembly (10, 150, 270, 310) includes a bio-process bag (48), a drum (46) that receives a lower portion of the bag (48), and a pressure ring (50). A holder (54, 182) couples an upper portion of the bag (48) to the pressure ring (50). The pressure ring (50) is coupled to the drum (46) to define an interior space that contains the bag (48). A liquid transport assembly (35, 178, 272) passes through an opening in the holder (54, 182) so that liquids can be added to, and removed from, the bag (48) without removing the rotor (16, 154) from the centrifuge. A bearing assembly (190) in the holder (54, 182) couples the liquid transport assembly (35, 178, 272) to the rotor (16, 154), and enables the liquid transport assembly (35, 178, 272) to remain stationary while the rotor (16, 154) rotates around it. One or more seal assemblies (276, 312) provide a fluid-tight seal against the outer portion of the liquid transport assembly (35, 178, 272), and prevent fluids from leaking from the bag (48) during centrifugation.

摘要: A method for controlling the operation of a continuously or periodically operating centrifuge can be employed in the sugar industry for separating crystalline carbohydrates or sugar alcohols from a crystal suspension called a magma or a mother liquor. The magma has a varying content of fine grain that is dependent on the properties of the pretreatment and of the raw material. Variable control values are provided in a control device of the centrifuge. One or plurality of sensors are provided that carry out the measurements in electromagnetic, optical, acoustic, and/or conductive ways. These measurements that are conducted serve for determining the fine grain fraction of the magma. The measurements are supplied as measurement signals to the control device of the centrifuge. The control device automatically analyzes the measurement signals supplied to it and evaluates them with respect to the fine grain content of the magma. The control device changes the variable control values of the centrifuge as a function of this evaluation.

摘要: A blood component separation device for separating a plurality of blood components from blood sampled from a blood donor, and collecting platelets, includes: an operation unit that calculates a predicted platelet recovery rate from a hematocrit value of the blood and a platelet concentration of the blood, and calculates a recommended processing amount of the blood recommended for collecting a target number of units of platelets on the basis of the calculated predicted platelet recovery rate, wherein the operating unit sets the predicted platelet recovery rate calculated from any the hematocrit value and any the platelet concentration to be smaller by a predetermined value a when the blood donor is female than that when the blood donor is male.

摘要: A centrifugal separator for separation of a liquid mixture includes a stationary frame, a rotatable assembly and a drive unit for rotating the rotatable assembly relative the frame around an axis of rotation, wherein the rotatable assembly includes a rotor casing enclosing a separation space in which a stack of separation discs is arranged to rotate around a vertical axis of rotation. The rotor casing includes a mechanically hermetically sealed inlet for supply of the liquid mixture to the separation space; a first liquid outlet that is mechanically hermetically sealed and arranged for discharge of a separated liquid phase and a second liquid outlet that is mechanically hermetically sealed and arranged for discharge of a separated heavy phase, the heavy phase having a density that is higher than said liquid phase. The separator further includes at least one positive displacement pump arranged downstream of the second liquid outlet for transporting the separated heavy phase from the separation space and at least one positive displacement pump arranged downstream of the first liquid outlet for transporting the separated liquid phase from the separation space.

摘要: A centrifugal separator is configured for processing a product by separating a relatively, heavy component and a relatively light component therefrom. The centrifugal separator includes a spindle supported by a stationary frame, A drive unit acts on a rotating member mounted on the spindle to rotate the spindle. A centrifuge rotor mounted to the spindle encloses a separation space. An upper bearing housing is mounted to the stationary frame and supports bearings including an outer bearing ring attached to the upper bearing housing and an inner bearing ring attached to the spindle. The upper bearing housing is mounted to the stationary frame via an elastic member permitting the upper bearing housing and the spindle to move radially, and via an upper tilting member permitting the spindle to tilt during operation of the centrifugal separator.
