    Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, responsive to determining that a second device is associated with a first carrier network, obtaining a first record associated with a called number of the second device from a first carrier network telephone number mapping equipment server of the first carrier network, and transmitting a first internet protocol address for the second device from the first record to a terminating call session control function server of the first carrier network to initiate the internet protocol call session. Responsive to a second determination that the second device is associated with a second carrier network, obtaining a second record associated with the called number according to a pointer to a second carrier network telephone number mapping equipment server of the second carrier network, and transmitting a second internet protocol address for the second device derived from the second record to a session border controller of the first carrier network to initiate the internet protocol call session. Other embodiments are disclosed.

    Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing and using an accessory setting service. Accessory data can be received from a computing device in communication with an accessory. The accessory data can include a unique identifier associated with the accessory. Based upon the unique identifier, a determination can be made as to whether or not the accessory data relates to a new accessory. If the accessory data does not relate to a new accessory, settings data associated with the accessory can be generated and transmitted to a recipient. If the accessory data relates to the new accessory, accessory settings associated with the accessory can be identified and stored with the unique identifier as accessory settings data.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a method and apparatus for resolving domain name system queries using unique top-level domains in a private network space are disclosed. For example, the method determines that a domain name service query specifies a destination residing in a private network space rather than in a public Internet space. The method then routes the domain name service query to a top-level domain name service server associated with the private network space, without routing the domain name service query to a root domain name service server in the public Internet space. The top-level domain name system server resides in the highest level of a hierarchy of domain name system servers belonging to the private network space.

    Abstract: Concepts and technologies pertaining to enabling internet protocol carrier peering to foreign network domains are provided. A method includes identifying, by a computer system executing within an originating carrier network, a plurality of numbering plan area identifiers corresponding to a receiving carrier network. The method further includes accessing, by the computer system executing within the originating carrier network based on the plurality of numbering plan area identifiers, a plurality of numbering plan area zone file records stored on a private enabled telephone number mapping server.     Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a computer-readable storage medium in a media controller having computer instructions to execute a soft-phone client application on the media processor, receive an audio call or a video call originating from an IP Multimedia Subsystem network where the calls are directed to the media processor by a gateway having a switch that routes the audio call or video call in accordance with a destination address included in a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) header message, and selectively answer one of the audio call or the video call.
