Abstract: In one embodiment, a system has a carousel that has a guiderail that forms a loop that has a loading position and an unloading position. The carousel also has a plurality of buckets, each having an upper end and a lower end. The lower end includes at least one bottom wall that is moveable between (i) a transporting configuration where the at least one bottom wall substantially closes the lower end of the bucket and (ii) a discharge configuration where the at least one bottom wall is moved so as to define an opening in the lower end of the bucket. The buckets are supported by the guiderail such that the buckets can be driven from the loading position towards the unloading position in the transporting configuration. The buckets can be transitioned to the discharge configuration so as to unload inventory items at the unloading position into a packaging material.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a conveyor system has first and second conveyors. The first conveyor has inner and outer sides and a first conveyor surface between the inner and outer sides that is configured to carry payloads between first and second conveyor ends along a first direction. The second conveyor has inner and outer sides and a second conveyor surface between the inner and outer sides of the second conveyor that is configured to carry payloads between the first and second conveyor ends along the first direction. The first and second conveyors are coupled to one another such that the inner sides are spaced closer to one another than the outer sides and the first and second conveyors are angularly offset from one another. The conveyor system is configured to rotate between a first orientation and a second orientation about an axis that extends along the first direction.

Abstract: A conveyor system includes a belt wound around a roller assembly along a belt axis. The belt is configured to convey objects along the roller assembly in a direction of conveyance. The belt includes a primary belt portion that is in contact with rollers of the roller assembly and defines the belt axis. The conveyor includes an actuator configured to cause the belt to selectively define at least one belt peak that protrudes from the primary belt portion at a peak height measured orthogonally from the belt axis.
