Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for prefetching of objects referenced on a network page. An encoded network page referring to at least one item is retrieved. The same item is included on a second network page. In response to an indication of user interest in the item on the first network page, at least an initial portion of a video resource associated with the indicated item and included on the second network page is retrieved. In response to a user selection of the same item, the retrieved initial portion of the video resource is rendered on the second network page.
Abstract:
Primary vehicles having cameras or other sensors generate and transmit instructions for causing secondary vehicles, such as personal delivery devices, to travel on selected courses and speeds. The primary vehicles capture and process images or other data to determine positions or orientations of the secondary vehicle, to detect any obstacles, and to select courses or speeds for the secondary vehicle based on the locations of the obstacles or one or more objectives of a task or function. Alternatively, the secondary vehicles may also capture images or other data, and transmit the images or data to the primary vehicle for processing. The secondary vehicles may include one or more fiducials having visual markings thereon. The visual identifiers are fixed in their orientations with respect to the secondary vehicles, such that positions or orientations of the secondary vehicles may be determined upon detecting the markings within imaging data.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for providing separate views for items. A network page providing a summary view of at least a portion of a pool of items is encoded in a computing resource for rendering by a client computing device. A window superimposed over at least a portion of the summary view is rendered by the client computing device. The summary view is deemphasized relative to the window that is superimposed. The window provides a separate view for examination of one item from the pool of items, and the window facilitates a serial examination of the pool of items.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments that provide immersive multimedia views for items. An immersive view for an item is rendered upon a display. The immersive view features an image of the item surrounded by a user interface layer that provides information about the item. The user interface layer is hidden when a cursor moves onto a first portion of the immersive view corresponding to the image of the item. The image of the item is replaced with a video stream of the item when the cursor moves onto a second portion of the immersive view corresponding to the image of the item.
Abstract:
A merchant system computes various probabilities that visitors to a Web site will request individual Web pages of the Web site. The computed probabilities are then utilized to cache Web pages having the highest probabilities of being requested to a client device. The probability data may include aggregate probability data that defines the probability that any visitor to the Web site will request a Web page, customer segment probability data that defines the probability that customers in a particular customer segment will visit the Web pages, and/or customer-specific probability data that defines the probability that a specific customer of the Web site will visit the Web pages. Only Web pages having a computed probability greater than a caching threshold may be cached at the client device. Additionally, the Web pages may also be cached at the client device based upon the actual interaction with the Web site by a visitor.

Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments relating to generating profile-based item suggestions from a stylist when purchasing items through an electronic commerce system. A network page is rendered in a client computing device comprising an input field to input descriptions of items the user wishes to purchase and a stylist profile selection mechanism to select a suggested stylist profile. The user inputs descriptions of items and selects the suggested stylist profile. An item suggestions request comprising the item descriptions and the selected stylist profile is sent from the client computing device to a server computing device.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating transition in a rendering of a network page given a resizing of a view port of a viewing window on a client device. The client device renders a network page in a view port on a display device, the network page defining a plurality of view port resolution ranges. The client device then implements a first level of changes in a display of the network page in response to resizing of the view port within a respective one of the view port resolution ranges. The client device subsequently implements a second level of changes in the display of the network page in response to resizing of the view port through a transition threshold defined between a respective pair of the view port resolution ranges.
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for location based call routing to a subject matter specialist. A call request is received from a computing device which includes an identifier of a network page. A topic specialist for the network page is identified from the contents of the network page. The call request is completed by establishing a call between the computing device and another computing device which is operated by the topic specialist.
