Abstract: Disclosed is a cosmetic or pharmaceutical composition comprising a UV filter combination of (a) at least one benzotriazole derivative corresponding to the formula wherein R1 is hydrogen; C1-C5alkyl; C1-C5alkoxy; or halogen; R2 is hydrogen; C1-C20alkyl; C1-C5alkoxy; C1-C5alkoxycarbonyl; C5-C10cycloalkyl; C5-C10aryl; or C5-C10aralkyl; R3 is C1-C20alkyl; C5-C10cycloalkyl; C1-C20alkoxy; or C5-C10cycloalkoxy; and R4 is hydrogen; or C1-C5alkyl; (b) at least one UV filter selected from (b1) benzylidene malonate UV filters; (b2) micronized 5,6,5′,6′-tetraphenyl-3,3′-(1,4-Phenylene)bis(1,2,4-Triazine) corresponding to the formula (b3) Benzoic acid, 4,4′-[[6-[[3-[1,3,3,3-tetramethyl-1-[(trimethylsilyl)oxy]-1 disiloxanyl]propyl]amino]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyl]diimino]bis-, dibutyl ester; and (b4) 2-Propenoic acid, 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-, 2-methylphenyl ester; and optionally (c) at least one UV filter selected from (c1) Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine; (c2) Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane; (c3) Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone; (c4) Ethylhexyl Triazone; (c5) Diethylamino Hydroxy Benzoyl Hexyl Benzoate; (c6) Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate; (c7) Ethylhexyl Salicylate; (c8) Homosalate; (c9) Octocrylene; (c10) Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol; (c11) Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid; (c12) Titanium Dioxide; (c13) Tris-Biphenyl Triazine; (c14) (2-{4-[2-(4-Diethylamino-2-hydroxy-benzoyl)-benzoyl]-piperazine-1-carbonyl}-phenyl)-(4-diethylamino-2-hydroxy-phenyl)-methanone; (c15) merocyanine derivatives; (c16) Bis(butylbenzoate) diaminotriazine aminopropylsiloxane; and (c17) Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, encapsulated in a polymer matrix.
