Abstract: Example medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device includes an elongate member having a proximal end region, a distal end region and an outer surface. The medical device also includes a plurality of filaments braided together in a first braided pattern along a first braided region of the elongate member, wherein the plurality of filaments extend continuously to a second braided region along the elongate member, wherein the plurality of filaments along the second braided region form a second braided pattern different from the first braided pattern.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to devices, systems, and methods for coil embolization, and, more particularly, to use and methods of forming coated coils. In an aspect, an embolic system may include a coil having a proximal end, a distal end, and a length therebetween slidingly disposed within a sheath. A coating may be disposed about the coil. A delivery filament may be configured to be slidingly disposed within the sheath proximal of the coil such that the coil can be ejected from the distal end of the sheath into the working lumen of a microcatheter. The coating may be configured to substantially fracture as the coil transitions from being substantially aligned with a longitudinal axis of the microcatheter to substantially misaligned with the longitudinal axis of the microcatheter upon being ejected from the microcatheter. The coating may be configured to plasticize after being ejected into an aqueous environment.

Abstract: A hub assembly for connection to a medical device. The hub assembly may comprises an outer component having a proximal end, a distal end, and a cavity extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The hub assembly may further include an insert having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end positioned at least in part within the cavity of the outer component. The insert may have a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end thereof. The outer component may be formed from a first material and the insert may be formed from a second material different from the first material.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to flow control devices for cancer treatment systems and related methods. In an embodiment, a fluid flow control device for a cancer therapy system is included having a receiver housing, wherein the receiver housing can be configured to interface with a fluid delivery device. The fluid flow control device can also include a rotational plunger. The rotational plunger can include indicia, such as markings, on an end of the rotational plunger. The rotational plunger can be configured to engage with the receiver housing and rotation of the rotational plunger causes a plunger of the syringe to be depressed. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: Locking catheters including a fluid-tight hub and mechanism to secure a flexible member. An illustrative locking catheter may comprise an elongate shaft defining a lumen, a first connection member coupled to the elongate shaft, a second connection member configured to be releasably coupled to the first connection member, and a flexible member extending through at least a portion of a lumen of the elongate shaft and a portion of a lumen of the first connection member. The proximal end of the flexible member may extend through the aperture of the first connection member such that the proximal end of the flexible member is exterior to the first connection member. When the second connection member is coupled with the first connection member, the flexible member may be secured between an inner surface of the first connection member and an outer surface of the inner tubular member of the second connection member.
