Abstract: Blood stagnation within a left atrial appendage (LAA) may be reduced by creating movement within the LAA. A variety of different actuatable devices, including magnetically actuated devices, may be implanted within the LAA. The actuatable device may be caused to become actuated, thereby causing the motion within the LAA. In some cases, causing the actuatable device to become actuated may include application of a magnetic field. In some cases, causing the actuatable device to become actuated may include subjecting the actuatable device to blood flow within the LAA.

Abstract: A medical device system may include an occlusive implant including a central hub and a plurality of elongate members configured to shift between extended and radially expanded configurations. The central hub includes a plurality of conduits extending from a proximal end to a radially outward facing surface. Abstract: A pacing system configured to sense cardiac activity and to deliver pacing therapy to a patient's heart. The determined pacing delay may be configured to maximize a flow of blood into and/or out of the left atrial appendage.
