Abstract: A left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) device includes an expandable member that defines a profile of the LAAC device and is moveable between a minimal diameter and a maximum diameter, the expandable member adapted to move to a deployment diameter that is intermediate the minimal diameter and the maximum diameter and that is limited by dimensions of a left atrial appendage (LAA) in which the LAAC device is deployed. A fabric extends over at least a portion of the expandable member and is adapted to accommodate changes in the expandable member between the minimal diameter and the increased diameter.

Abstract: A medical device system may include an occlusive implant including a central hub and a plurality of elongate members configured to shift between extended and radially expanded configurations. The central hub includes a plurality of conduits extending from a proximal end to a radially outward facing surface. The plurality of elongate members is configured to extend through the conduits in the radially expanded configuration. An implant remodeling tool may include an elongate sheath having at least one lumen, a plunger guide, and a plurality of plunger shafts extending from the at least one lumen through the plunger guide. The plunger guide is configured to direct the plunger shafts radially outward as the plunger shafts are advanced distally. The plunger shafts are configured to engage a medical implant and urge at least a portion of the implant radially outward.

Abstract: A medical implant including an expandable framework configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, the expandable framework comprising a plurality of interconnected struts defining a plurality of cells; and an occlusive element connected to the expandable framework and having an inner surface and an outer surface. The expandable framework may include a plurality of securement members projecting from the plurality of interconnected struts. One of the inner surface or the outer surface of the occlusive element may be in contact with the plurality of interconnected struts, and the other of the inner surface and the outer surface not in contact with the plurality of interconnected struts may lie against an opposing surface of each of the plurality of securement members. A tip portion of the plurality of securement members may not extend radially outward of the plurality of interconnected struts.

Abstract: Implanting a left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) device within a patient's left atrial appendage (LAA) may include advancing an assembly to a position proximate the patient's LAA. The assembly includes an LAAC device releasably secured to an LAAC delivery catheter, and one or more ultrasound transducers disposed relative to the LAAC delivery catheter. Once the LAAC device is deployed, the ultrasound transducers may be rotated relative to the LAAC device to look for leaks between the LAAC device and the LAA. In some cases, the LAAC device may be repositioned relative to the LAA when excessive leaks are found via ultrasound.
