    Abstract: A valve body circumscribes a longitudinal axis and defines a lumen along the axis. Upstream arms are coupled to the valve body, and extend radially outward from the valve body to respective arm-tips. Downstream legs are coupled to the valve body, and extend radially outward from the valve body and toward the plurality of arms. A flexible pouch extends radially outward from the valve body. The arms and the legs narrow the pouch therebetween to form a narrowed portion of the pouch, thereby defining, in an interior space of the pouch: (a) an inner portion, radially inward from the narrowed portion, and in fluid communication with the lumen, and (b) an outer portion, radially outward from the narrowed portion, and in fluid communication with the inner portion via the narrowed portion. Other embodiments are also described.

    Abstract: Apparatus is provided, including a frame assembly that includes a valve body that circumscribes a longitudinal axis and defines a lumen along the axis. A plurality of prosthetic leaflets are disposed within the lumen, and are arranged to facilitate one-way upstream-to-downstream fluid flow through the lumen. A flexible pouch defines an interior space therein. The pouch is shaped and is coupled to the frame assembly such that the pouch circumscribes the valve body, and has (1) a narrowed portion, (2) an inner portion of the interior space, radially inward from the narrowed portion, and in fluid communication with the lumen, and (3) an outer portion of the interior space, radially outward from the narrowed portion, and in fluid communication with the inner portion via the narrowed portion.     Abstract: A frame assembly (222) includes a tubular portion (32) that defines a lumen along an axis; a plurality of arms (46) coupled to the tubular portion at a first axial level, each of the arms extending radially outward from the tubular portion to a respective arm-tip; and a plurality of ventricular legs (50) that are coupled to the tubular portion at a second axial level, and that extend radially outward from the tubular portion. A first sheet (440) has a greater perimeter (446), and a smaller perimeter (448) that defines an opening. The first sheet is stitched onto the plurality of arms, with the opening aligned with the lumen. Subsequently, an outer perimeter (454) of a second sheet (450) is stitched to the greater perimeter of the first sheet. Subsequently, the second sheet is everted by passing an inner perimeter (452) of the second sheet around the arm-tips.

    Abstract: A method for assembling a prosthetic valve includes obtaining (1) a frame assembly that includes a tubular portion and ventricular legs that extend radially outward from the tubular portion, and (2) a piece of flat, flexible material shaped to define (i) a belt, and (ii) strips extending from the belt along a respective strip-axis. Each strip is folded into a pocket by folding the strip over itself, about a fold-line that is orthogonal to the strip-axis, thereby forming (i) a first strip-portion that extends from the belt to the fold-line, and (ii) a second strip-portion that extends from the fold-line back toward the belt, and stitching together the first and second strip-portions at the first edge, and the first and second strip-portions at the second edge. Each leg is slid into a pocket. The belt is wrapped around the tubular portion. Other embodiments are also described.
