Abstract: An assembly (10) for crimping a frame (56) of an implant (58) comprises a crimping device (20) with a base (22) and a crimping mechanism (24) that defines a crimping aperture (26). A bath (28) having a floor (30), and one or more side-walls (32) extending upward from the floor to a side-wall height defines a receptacle (18) that is shaped to receive a portion of the crimping device. The apparatus has an assembled state in which the portion of the crimping device has been received by the receptacle, the crimping device is held securely by the bath, and the aperture is below the side-wall height. Abstract: A method for grouping prosthetic valve leaflets of an aggregate of prosthetic valve leaflets is provided. Using a computer processor, for each leaflet of the aggregate, in response to an image parameter of the leaflet, a leaflet-flexibility value is derived. A group size value is provided to the processor. Using the processor, at least some of the leaflets of the aggregate are designated into leaflet groups, based on similarity between the respective leaflet-flexibility value of each leaflet of the aggregate. Each of the leaflet groups includes a number of leaflets equal to the group size value. Using the processor, an indication of the designated leaflet groups is outputted. Abstract: A valve body circumscribes a longitudinal axis and defines a lumen along the axis. Upstream arms are coupled to the valve body, and extend radially outward from the valve body to respective arm-tips. Downstream legs are coupled to the valve body, and extend radially outward from the valve body and toward the plurality of arms. A flexible pouch extends radially outward from the valve body. The arms and the legs narrow the pouch therebetween to form a narrowed portion of the pouch, thereby defining, in an interior space of the pouch: (a) an inner portion, radially inward from the narrowed portion, and in fluid communication with the lumen, and (b) an outer portion, radially outward from the narrowed portion, and in fluid communication with the inner portion via the narrowed portion. Abstract: Apparatus is described that includes a blade assembly (20) for conditioning ex vivo pericardial tissue from which fibers extend. The apparatus includes a blade head (26) that includes a blade a may (28) and a face (30) defining gaps (32) therein. The gaps are dimensioned to facilitate protrusion therethrough of fibers into the blade head, such that movement of the blade array, with respect to the face, shears the fibers. The blade assembly is configured to be used while the tissue and the blade array are submerged in a liquid (140) with the fibers facing upward, and with the face facing downward. The apparatus is configured to provide, while the blade array is submerged in the liquid, a suction force that sucks the liquid into the blade head via the gaps, and discharges a refuse liquid through a lateral exhaust hole (24). Abstract: An implant includes a support frame, having a compressed state, and an expanded state in which the support frame defines an opening therethrough, and is dimensioned to be placed against an upstream surface of a native heart valve. The implant includes a valve frame having a compressed state, and an expanded state in which the valve frame defines a lumen therethrough, and including a valve member disposed within the lumen. The valve frame is coupled to the support frame via a flexible sheet such that when the support and valve frames are in their expanded state, the valve frame is not in contact with the support frame. The implant is housed in the catheter for implanting transfemorally, with the valve frame closer to a distal end of the catheter than the support frame is to the distal end of the catheter. Abstract: A unitary flexible sheet is folded to defines a panel, and first and second tabs. Each of the tabs has an inner layer and an outer layer. Abstract: A prosthetic valve includes a tubular valve body, snares, and an upstream support. A native valve of a heart of a subject is disposed between an atrium and a ventricle of the heart, and has an annulus and leaflets. The prosthetic valve is advanced to the heart while in a compressed state. The prosthetic valve is positioned within the heart such that the snares are disposed upstream of the annulus and leaflets. The snares are expanded radially outwardly upstream of the leaflets. Subsequently, the prosthetic valve is moved in a downstream direction such that the snares become disposed downstream of the leaflets. While the snares remain downstream of the leaflets, the upstream support is expanded within the atrium, and the upstream support is placed against an upstream surface of the annulus. Abstract: Prosthetic valves and methods of implanting prosthetic valves may be provided, including an expandable prosthetic valve for implantation within a native heart valve.
