    摘要: A signal for relay is received from a first node. From a local memory that stores K transform matrices (K being an integer greater than one) is selected a transform matrix that is associated with a relay rank order. The matrices define an optimal tradeoff of diversity gain versus spatial multiplexing. The received signal is transformed using the selected transform matrix, and the transformed signal is relayed over a wireless channel to a second node. In a particular embodiment the received signal is an input symbol vector of N consecutive symbols (N being an integer at least equal to two) and the transform linearly combines the N symbols of the input vector according to the relay rank order. In various embodiments the first node may give the rank order, it may be mutually agreed via signaling among the various relay nodes, or it may be based on an intrinsically generated random number.

    摘要: Transmission antenna diversity can be set up on a data transmission connection between a transmitting unit, wherein there are several transmission antenna routes, and a receiving unit. A broadcast signal is transmitted through all transmission antenna routes of the transmitting unit, with the aid of these signals a choice is made in the receiving unit of the optimum transmission antenna route and a message of the choice is transmitted to the transmitting unit, which transmits user data through the transmission antenna route connected for use. The broadcast signal of each transmission antenna route can be shaped by an individual signal shaping method which is different from the others and a transmission antenna route is connected for use based on the received antenna choice message, individually for each receiving unit.

    摘要: A wireless communication system is disclosed that includes forming one or more beam patterns by a transmitter at a first time, where the beam patterns are made up of a first set of beam patterns used to transmit data during the first time, and a second set of beam patterns used to transmit data during a subsequent time. A pilot signal is transmitted on each of the beam patterns and is detectable and decodable by one or more receivers. The receivers test the quality of the beam patterns and transmit an indicator to the transmitter that relates to one of the beam patterns that has a high channel quality. The transmitter determines channel estimation, transmission scheduling, and/or resource allocation based, at least in part, on the indicator.
