Abstract: In a rotating electric machine, an armature winding includes segmented conductors that include a coil side portion, housed in slots of the armature, and a coil end portion protruding from an armature core on both sides in an axial direction. The coil side portions are housed in the slots so as to form 2N+1 layers in a radial direction. The coil end portion connects two coil side portions respectively housed in the slots that are a predetermined pitch apart in a circumferential direction. The coil end portion includes a first coil end portion connecting the coil side portions of differing layers in the radial direction and a second coil portion connecting the coil side portions of the same layer. On both ends in the axial direction, any of the plurality of coil side portions that are housed in the slots is connected to the second coil end portion.

Abstract: An electric drive apparatus includes a rotating electric machine and a transmission. The rotating electric machine includes a rotor, a stator and a first housing. The transmission includes a motive power transmitting unit, a second housing provided integrally with the first housing, and lubricating oil provided in the second housing to lubricate the motive power transmitting unit. The stator includes a stator coil that has first and second coil end parts respectively protruding from first and second axial end faces of a stator core. Each of phase windings of the stator coil has turn portions included in the first coil end part and joints included in the second coil end part. The second coil end part is located on the same axial side of the stator core as the transmission whereas the first coil end part is located on the opposite axial side of the stator core to the transmission.

Abstract: A rotor for a rotating electric machine includes a rotor core having a plurality of magnet-receiving holes formed along a circumferential direction, and a plurality of permanent magnets each of which is received in a corresponding one of the magnet-receiving holes of the rotor core. Each of the magnet-receiving holes has a pair of a radially-outer wall surface and a radially-inner wall surface that are radially opposite to each other. Each of the permanent magnets is fixed in the corresponding magnet-receiving hole of the rotor core by a fixing resin that includes a radially outer resin interposed between the permanent magnet and the radially-outer wall surface of the corresponding magnet-receiving hole and a radially inner resin interposed between the permanent magnet and the radially-inner wall surface of the corresponding magnet-receiving hole. An adhesive strength of the radially outer resin is higher than an adhesive strength of the radially inner resin.

Abstract: A rotating electric machine includes a stator and a rotor. The rotor is arranged so as to oppose the stator in a radial direction and has a plurality of magnetic poles in the circumferential direction. In the rotating electric machine, each of the phase coils has a plurality of series-connection coil groups that each includes n unit coils that are arranged to be wound in the circumferential direction. In each of the series-connection coil groups, a first end thereof is connected to a phase terminal for a respective phase and a second end is connected to a neutral point, and the series-connection coil groups are connected in parallel.

Abstract: A rotating electric machine includes a multi-phase armature coil wound on an armature core. The armature coil is formed of electrical conductor groups each being a bundle of electrical conductor segments and having a pair of leg portions and a connecting portion that connects the leg portions. The connecting portion is bent radially with respect to a circumferential direction. The electrical conductor groups are paired such that each pair of the electrical conductor groups consists of a first electrical conductor group and a second electrical conductor group both belonging to a same phase of the armature coil. The circumferential pitch between the leg portions of the first electrical conductor group is greater than that between the leg portions of the second electrical conductor group. In each pair of the electrical conductor groups, the connecting portions of the first and second electrical conductor groups are arranged to axially overlap each other.

The transmission is provided, on one axial side of the rotating electric machine, integrally with the rotating electric machine. The rotating electric machine includes a stator coil that is assembled to a stator core to have first and second coil end parts respectively protruding from first and second axial end faces of the stator core. The axial protruding height of the second coil end part from the second axial end face of the stator core is larger than the axial protruding height of the first coil end part from the first axial end face of the stator core. The first coil end part is located on the same axial side of the stator core as the transmission whereas the second coil end part is located on the opposite axial side of the stator core to the transmission.
