Abstract: An object detection apparatus includes an object detecting unit detecting an object present around a subject vehicle based on received waves, in a case of receiving reflected waves, from the object, of ultrasonic waves transmitted from an ultrasonic sensor as transmitted waves. The object detection apparatus includes a temperature sensor detecting a temperature of the ultrasonic sensor, and based on a detected value of the temperature of the ultrasonic sensor, corrects at least one of a reception sensitivity for the received waves received by the ultrasonic sensor and a transmission intensity for the transmitted waves from the ultrasonic sensor. The object detection apparatus then detects the object using the corrected received waves.

Abstract: A plurality of ultrasonic sensors are configured such that search ultrasonic waves transmitted from the respective ultrasonic sensors have mutually different characteristics that are mutually distinguishable. A transmission timing setting unit is configured to set a transmission timing of transmitting the search ultrasonic wave for each of the ultrasonic sensors, such that the plurality of ultrasonic sensors transmit the respective search ultrasonic waves at respective transmission timings that are mutually different. The transmission timing setting unit is configured to set a delay time between a first transmission timing, which is a transmission timing of the first ultrasonic sensor, and a second transmission timing, which is a transmission timing of the second ultrasonic sensor, with the delay time being determined based on a positional relationship between the first ultrasonic sensor and the second ultrasonic sensor.

Abstract: An object detection device includes a drive signal generation unit provided to generate a drive signal for driving a transmitter configured to transmit a search wave to the outside, and a control unit provided to control output of the drive signal from the drive signal generation unit to the transmitter. The drive signal generation unit generates a first drive signal corresponding to a first search wave and a second drive signal corresponding to a second search wave having an encoding scheme that is different from the encoding scheme of the first search wave. The control unit causes the drive signal generation unit to output the first drive signal and the second drive signal to the transmitter at different timings so that one of the first and second search waves is transmitted in a transmission interval between transmissions of the other search wave.

Abstract: An object detection apparatus is arranged to detect the distance to the object and includes: a transceiver repeatedly transmitting a wave as an ultrasonic wave and receives a reflection wave of the transmission wave; a transmission controller controlling the transceiver to transmit the transmission wave; a distance calculator calculating a distance to the object, based on a time interval from a moment when the transceiver transmits the wave to a moment when the reflection wave is received; and a transmission timing controller controlling timing at which the transmission controller controls the transmission wave to be transmitted. Moreover, the transmission timing controller inserts at least one type of temporary waiting time between a transmission/reception period in which the transceiver transmits the transmission wave and receives the reflection wave and a next transmission/reception period, when a predetermined crosstalk identification condition is established based on the distance to the object.
