摘要: A method and system for automatically helping a teacher/educator evaluate assessments administered to students for determining student's attributes. The teacher/educator reviews stored assessment forms at a digital user interface (DUI) at a multifunction device (MFD) and selects the desired forms and creates an Assessment Batch which includes a List of Students to be given the forms for marking. The system automatically codes each form with personalized student information and prints the individualized assessment forms. The teacher/educator administers the assessment and assessment forms are manually marked, collected and scanned at the MFD, entered into storage and the marked images automatically analyzed and the assessments automatically evaluated from stored rubrics and the teacher/educator is automatically notified by email that the evaluation has been performed. The system enables the teacher/educator to review the evaluations remotely and validate/annotate the evaluation and update the records in storage The Assessment Batch may be created for a list of students in a group, a class, a grade level, a school, a plurality of schools and students in a geographical area.

摘要: Systems and methods to enable real-time and near real-time storyboarding on the World Wide Web in addition to a graphical user interface for video parsing and browsing the of the storyboard. Specifically, storyboarding can be accomplished on the World Wide Web by parsing an input video into representative or key frames. These frames then can be posted to a web document, or the like, for subsequent viewing by a user. This allows a video to be distilled down to the essential frames thus eliminating storage and bandwidth problems as well as eliminating the need for a user to view the entirety of the video. Furthermore, the graphical user interface allows a user to visually interact with an input video signal to determine the key or representative frames, or to retrieve video segments associated with already determined key frames. Furthermore, the interface allows manipulation of these frames including, but not limited to, playing of the entire segment represented by that key or significant frame as well as actual determining of the cuts between significant segments.

摘要: A method of applying noise removal to an image so that the areas having the greatest variance have the least correction. First, the variance between each image pixel and its surrounding pixels is determined. Next, for the neighborhood around each pixel, a density of variance is determined. Finally the density of variance for the neighborhood around each pixel is used to correct the original pixel, the direction of correction being toward the mean value in the surrounding pixels. The result is that relatively uniform areas of the image, within which noise is most obvious, will get the most correction and areas that are textured will get the least.

摘要: Systems and methods are described that facilitate capturing promotional information details such as the number of promotional material items printed for a given vendor supported by a marketing agency, item size, placement details, price, and authentication information to prove that a print log or summary is genuine. The authentication information can include a timestamp, printer identity, job identity and run-length. This information is summarized in a message digest and is signed by the printing system using digital signatures, which are then verified by the marketing agency through a public key counterpart of a private key used to generate the signatures.

摘要: A method for printing a composite document creates a fixed data unit for a composite document, the fixed data unit being a portion of an individual document which is consistent in each individual document within the composite document. A variable data unit is created for each individual document to be represented by the composite document, a variable data unit being a portion of the individual document which is unique to that individual document. The data within each created variable data unit is analyzed to determine a set of rights for each created variable data unit, and the determined set of rights are embedded into the appropriated created variable data unit. A composite document is created by bundling the fixed data unit with the embedded variable data units and submitted for printing. A plurality of individual documents for printing is created, each individual document being a merger of the fixed data unit with an embedded variable data unit wherein each individual document is printed based upon the set of rights embedded in the corresponding variable data unit.
