Abstract: Provided are a coordinated multipoint transmission and reception method and a coordinated multipoint transmission and reception system for performing the same. In the operation method of a first base station in a network in which the first base station and a second base station transmit data to a terminal, the method includes receiving, by the first base station, a packet to be transmitted to the terminal and base station information indicating a base station determined to transmit the packet from a gateway of the network; and transmitting, by the first base station, the packet to the terminal according to the determined base station information.
