Abstract: Automated driving systems intended for use in a vehicle can be simulated and validated using automatically generated simulation scenarios. A large number of simulation scenarios can be generated by augmenting a plurality of recorded scenarios with one or more extracted data streams. The extracted data streams can correspond to objects such as other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, or other obstacles or barriers. The extracted data streams can be generated automatically by identifying similar recorded scenarios and isolating differences between the similar recorded scenarios.

Abstract: A first vehicle comprising one or more sensors configured to sense one or more characteristics of surroundings of the first vehicle, one or more cameras configured to capture images of the surroundings of the first vehicle, and one or more processors coupled to the one or more sensors and the one or more cameras. The one or more processors are configured to identify a second vehicle as a distressed vehicle using outputs from at least one of the one or more sensors and the one or more cameras, determine one or more trouble items associated with the distressed vehicle, and in response to determining the one or more trouble items, perform a set of one or more actions to assist the distressed vehicle based on the determined one or more trouble items.

Abstract: One or more scenario parameters can be determined. One or more performance metrics can be determined. A vehicle configuration associated with an autonomously operating vehicle can be determined. The autonomously operating vehicle can be simulated in each of one or more scenarios for each of the one or more scenario parameters, each scenario including the determined one or more scenario parameters, wherein at least one of the one or more scenario parameters for each scenario is different from scenario parameters simulated in other scenarios. For each simulated scenario, the one or more performance metrics associated with the simulated scenario can be determined.
