摘要: A method is provided in a base station for handling a request from a first user equipment for accessing a service in a radio communications network. The method comprises the steps of receiving a first time interval of an incoming signal comprises a first signal sent from the first user equipment and a second signal sent from the second user equipment, interpreting the first signal as being a possible service access request message preamble, and sending an acknowledgement, that the preamble is detected, to the first user equipment. The method comprises the further steps of delaying the first time interval of the incoming signal, identifying the second signal in the first time interval of the incoming signal during the delay, washing the identified second signal away from the first time interval of the incoming signal during the delay, and deciding whether the possible preamble is a real preamble or not, by analyzing the washed incoming signal.

摘要: A control node (26) of a radio access network (24) comprises a soft handover unit (62) and a power control unit (50). The soft handover unit (62) controls a soft handover procedure wherein a user equipment unit (30) has diversity in radio transmissions with plural radio base stations (28) comprising an active set of base stations. The power control unit (50), during the soft handover procedure, facilitates an adjustment of an uplink power level used by the user equipment unit (30) for uplink radio transmissions to the plural base stations by an adjustment amount. The adjustment amount is determined to promote uplink synchronization for all radio base stations of the active set. In one example embodiment, the power control unit (50) comprises a soft handover power boost function (70) which, during the soft handover procedure, increases the uplink power level used by the user equipment unit (30) for uplink radio transmissions by the adjustment amount. The adjustment amount is preferably a function of a difference between power levels of downlink reference signals of the active set.

摘要: The invention relates to a method in a base station for handling a request from a user equipment for accessing a service in a radio communications network, the method comprising the steps of receiving a first wide time interval (305) of an incoming signal (300) comprising a first signal sent from the user equipment, the first signal extending along a first narrow time interval (310) being a part of the first wide time interval, the first narrow time interval of the first signal being a possible service access request message; searching the first wide time interval (305) and detecting that the first signal is a possible service access request message; and identifying how the first narrow time interval (310) of the first signal relates to the first wide time interval (305). The relationship will be the same for subsequent time intervals of the incoming signal (300).

摘要: In a method of interference mitigation in a multi user detection capable radio base station in a communication system, which radio base station comprises a set confined detection modules, at least one of which is capable of handling multiple user connections, first and at least a second subset of detection modules are formed from said set, wherein the second set comprises at least one interference mitigation capable detection module. Interference information from the first subset is communicated to the second subset, interference originating in user connections of the first subset are then mitigated from the user connections of the second subset. Subsequently, interference is mutually mitigated between the connections within the interference mitigation capable detection module.

摘要: A first unit for use in a base station in a mobile telecommunication network is adapted to use an identity for identifying a mobile terminal or for identifying a channel in the uplink. The first unit manages information of at least one additional identity of a mobile terminal or a channel belonging to at least a second base station for interference mitigation purposes. The first unit detects whether the mobile terminal or channel identified by the additional identity is active and mitigates cell-interference caused by an active mobile terminal or a channel identified by the additional identity. A second unit reserves at least one identity for identifying a mobile terminal or for identifying a channel in order to make the at least one identity identifiable to at least a second base station.

摘要: Random access coverage is assured while at the same time supporting high uplink data rates in a same service area served by a base station. A set of radio resources are shared by multiple mobile terminals for transmitting uplink to the base station including requests for access to service from the base station and transmissions for active connections with the base station. A first repeating time period and a second different repeating time period are defined. Uplink transmission grants are scheduled for active connections that permit use of a greater amount of the radio resources during the first repeating time period. Uplink transmission grants are also scheduled for active connections that permit use of a smaller amount of those resources during the second repeating time period. At least some random access requests to the base station are controlled to occur only during the second repeating time period.

摘要: The present invention relates to handover procedures in a cellular communications system (1). The cells (10-70) of the system (1) are divided into multiple handover-related classes based on their respective radio coverage characteristics. Each such cell class is then associated with a unique handover parameter or a unique set of parameters that are used in handover procedures involving the cells (10-70). The parameter values are adapted for the radio coverage characteristics of each cell class in order to generate a suitable handover region size of the cells (10-70). The handover parameters are used together with user equipment-assisted signal quality measurements for triggering the handover procedures.
