Abstract:
A signal processing method is provided. The signal processing method includes receiving, at a signal processing system, a signal of interest, calculating, using the signal processing system, a power spectral density for the signal of interest, calculating, using the signal processing system, a basis vector based on the power spectral density shape, performing, using the signal processing system, a linear regression using the basis vector to generate an estimate for at least one parameter of the signal of interest, and transmitting, based on the at least one generated estimate, a signal that avoids interference with the signal of interest.
Abstract:
A receiver includes a first finger that receives a non-interference-cancelled signal and output first demodulated data, a first phase estimate, and a first PN code. The receiver also includes a second finger that selectively receives the non-interference-cancelled signal and a first interference-cancelled signal generated from the non-interference-cancelled signal based on the first phase estimate and the first PN code. The second finger also outputs second demodulated data.

Abstract:
An adaptive parameter for adjusting a threshold in a sensor system that provides a constant false alarm rate is disclosed. A projection space generator performs projection operations to create a matched projection space and first and second mismatched projection spaces such that each mismatched projection space is orthogonal or nearly orthogonal to the matched projection space. A mitigator engine receives the matched and first mismatched projection spaces and generates a covariance matrix from the first mismatched projection space and an image space from the covariance matrix and the matched projection space. A second mismatched projection space that is mismatched to both the matched and first mismatched projection spaces is provided to a clutter characterization engine that generates samples from the second mismatched projection space and the covariance matrix. The adaptive parameter is generated from the samples and is used as an input to a threshold adjuster in a target detector.
Abstract:
A method for performing joint detection includes adjusting a ranking order of codes in a matched filtering result, and a ranking order of column vectors in a system submatrix according to the power. The joint detection is performed using an adjusted matched filtering result and an adjusted system submatrix, and acquires demodulated signals corresponding to the codes. The codes that have high power will be demodulated first. This ensures accuracy of demodulation, inhibits erroneous propagation effect, and improves accuracy of the joint detection.
Abstract:
In a method of interference mitigation in a multi user detection capable radio base station in a communication system, which radio base station comprises a set of confined detection modules, at least one of which is capable of handling multiple user connections, first and at least a second subset of detection modules are formed from said set, wherein the second set comprises at least one interference mitigation capable detection module. Interference information from the first subset is communicated to the second subset, interference originating in user connections of the first subset are then mitigated from the user connections of the second subset. Subsequently, interference is mutually mitigated between the connections within the interference mitigation capable detection module.
Abstract:
Various devices and methods are provided that use signaling to support advanced wireless receivers. For example, a method includes receiving an input signal at a user equipment. The input signal includes a desired signal and an interfering signal, where the desired signal defines symbols using constellations. The method also includes obtaining information identifying a wireless channel used by the interfering signal and a modulation type used to modulate data in the interfering signal. The method further includes recovering the symbols from the desired signal using the information.
Abstract:
The present invention relates a method, apparatus, receiver, computer program for joint detection. In the method, it is firstly determined if whether a number of original active codes is beyond a predefined threshold or not, and when the number of the original active codes is beyond the predefined threshold and a strong interference code exists in the active codes corresponding to intra-frequency adjacent cells, it is to apply an interference cancellation to a receive signal, cancel MAI caused by a strong interference signal corresponding to the strong interference code, and perform a joint detection by utilizing a matched filtering result of a remaining signal after the interference cancellation for the joint detection. According to at least one embodiment of the present invention, when there is large interference in the intra-frequency adjacent cells and the number of the active codes is beyond a maximum threshold, the joint detection performance is improved.

Abstract:
Described devices and techniques provide noise whitening in a communication device. The noise whitening is performed by a noise whitening unit that receives signals on a first path associated with a first antenna and signals on a second path associated with a second antenna. The received signals may include radio signals and channel coefficient signals. The noise whitening unit may perform noise whitening of the received signals in consideration of a covariance of the interference and noise associated with the received radio signals.
