A door latch comprises a rotatable latch bolt 34 including a first detent shoulder 46, and detent lever 48 including a second detent shoulder 54 engageable with the first detent shoulder 46 in the latched position of the latch bolt, the shoulders when engaged, tending to cam out of engagement upon forced rotation of the latch bolt from the latched to the unlatched position thereof, and a blocking lever 60 selectively operable upon the detent lever to hold the shoulders in engagament and prevent movement of the latch bolt from the latched position thereof. As shown, the latch bolt 34 is engageable with a flange 24 of a keeper box assembly 32 and is retained in engagement, against a spring 40 by the detent shoulder 54 on the lever 48. The lever 48 is retained in the bolt-engaging position by an anti-friction roller 64 on the lever 60, fixed to and rotatable manually through a roll back 62. The lever is also operable electrically by means of a solenoid 72, an armature 74 of which engages a pin 78 at the lower end of lever 60.
