Abstract:
A range of motion limiting device, in one example comprising a first armature configured to engage a carriage moving on at least one rail having a first surface and a second surface transversely offset from the first surface of the rail. Also disclosed is an example utilizing a first bumper adjacent the first longitudinal end of the first armature. The first bumper extending transversely from the first transverse side of the first armature, optionally having a distal end with a non-slip surface engaging the first surface of a rail. Also disclosed is a second bumper longitudinally offset from the first bumper on the first armature, the second bumper extending transversely from the second transverse side of the first armature, also optionally having a distal end with a non-slip surface engaging the second surface of the rail.
Abstract:
A shuttle training and therapy device including in one example: a floor standing fame having a headward end and a footward end; a carriage slidably attached to the frame; a resistance system of elastic cords attached to the footward end of the frame; the elastic cords selectively attached to the carriage; and a range of motion limiting system including a control cord having a first end attached to the carriage, a second end selectively attached to the frame, and an intermediate portion attached to an elastic member attached to the carriage.
Abstract:
A cantilever assembly includes a cantilever arm having a pair of longitudinal fastening channels with a corresponding pair of slots in communication with the fastening channels. An attachment bracket features a connector portion and a pair of spaced leg portions defining a seat there between with each leg portion having at least one aperture. The leg portions also each have an inner surface featuring an elongated groove with each being in communication with a corresponding one of the apertures. The elongated grooves are positioned in alignment with the slots of the cantilever arm when the cantilever arm is positioned in the seat of the attachment bracket. Tee bolts having a shaft portion and an oblong head portion movably pass through the apertures of the attachment bracket with the oblong head portions pivotable between a first orientation where they may be positioned within the elongated grooves of the attachment bracket and passed through the slots and into and out of the fastening channels of the cantilever arm, and a second orientation where they are secured within the fastening channels of the cantilever arm.
Abstract:
A safety monitoring system for a catenary system that includes an overhead wire, a support pole and a counterweight attached to the end of the overhead wire and suspended by the support pole. The catenary safety monitoring system includes a temperature sensor for detecting an ambient temperature, a position sensor for detecting a position of the counterweight and an electronic controller. The electronic controller compares a detected position of the counterweight with a predicted position determined by the electronic controller using an ambient temperature from the temperature sensor. A message transmitter provides a warning to a user if the detected position of counterweight is not within a predetermined percentage of the predicted position.
Abstract:
A mobile support system having a central region that allows the legs to move in an unobstructed manner and providing an upper body support assembly where the weight is distributed between the elbow region and hand region of the individual for a desirable weight distribution for assisted bipedal motion such as walking or running.
Abstract:
A wind energy collection device configured to be mounted to the roof of a structure, the device optionally comprising: a support frame to be fixed to the roof of a building; a wind turbine impeller mounted to the support frame, the impeller supported by a turbine shaft oriented in a fixed horizontal and vertical position relative to the frame. The impeller optionally coupled to a generator to convert rotational movement of the impeller to power that can be stored and/or transmitted. The device may also comprise at least one directional panel configured to direct the wind to at least one impeller vane of the impeller such that the impeller rotates in a rotational direction due to force exerted by the wind blowing in a first direction; and the directional panel is repositionable so as to direct the wind blowing in a second direction opposed to the first direction such that the impeller rotates in the rotational direction.
Abstract:
In general, the disclosure recites an apparatus having a kick plate that is adapted to be stored in an operable position where it is in a substantially vertically orientated manner where the kick plate is in a more vertically orientated or positioned orientation with respect to a frame and a carriage is movably attached in a substantially horizontal direction where a resistance system provides resistant movement of the carriage with respect to the frame. The kick plate is further adapted or operatively configured to be re-orientated in a stowed position where an upper surface of the kick plate operates in conjunction with an upper surface of the carriage to function as a table like support.
Abstract:
A pressure regulator comprising a body portion having an inlet port, an outlet port, and a flow passage positioned therebetween is provided. A valve member and a valve seat are positioned in the flow passage. A spring is coupled to the valve member to urge the valve member along an axis towards the valve seat, wherein the flow passage is substantially closed when the valve member engages with the valve seat. The spring has an extended segment in contact with a fixed surface, whereby the extended segment restricts displacement of the spring in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis.
