    Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus providing a first component having a circular opening with an interior chamfered edge and a second component positioned within the circular opening. The apparatus also provides a magnetic feature at a circular bottom surface of the first component, where the magnetic feature provides a magnetic pull force in a first direction to secure the second component within the circular opening. The second component is configured to break away from the circular opening when a contact force to the breakaway component causes a force in a second direction opposite of the first direction and greater than the magnetic pull force.

    Abstract: A computer includes a lid defining a lower edge. A hinge is connected to the lid along the lower edge. The computer further includes a base having an upper surface and a keyboard disposed on the upper surface and defining a back edge. A mounting assembly is connected with the base between the back edge and the keyboard. The mounting assembly has an attachment feature that moves along a translational path in a direction between the back edge and the keyboard in a manner that is constrained to rotation thereof. The hinge is rotatably connected to the lid to be rotatable with respect to the base. The hinge is rotatably affixed with the attachment feature such that rotation of the lid drives rotation of the attachment feature, which drives the movement of the attachment feature along the translational path, moving the lower edge of the therewith.

    Abstract: A portable computer that has a motorized hinge structure capable of moving the lid between an open and closed position. The movement of the lid is based on input from a plurality of sensors. One sensor may be configured to determine whether the user is within a predetermined threshold distance.
