Systems and methods for providing a gesture-based interface are provided. In some aspects, depth data indicative of a person interacting with one or more display devices is received. The one or more display devices display a plurality of columns. Each of the plurality of columns includes a plurality of icons. A column corresponding to a position of the person with respect to the one or more display devices is determined using the depth data. The column is from among the plurality of columns displayed at the one or more display devices. A signal for expanding a predetermined icon in the column corresponding to the position of the person with respect to the one or more display devices is provided.

Methods, systems, and media for presenting requested content on public display devices are provided. In some implementations a method for presenting content on a display device is provided, the method comprising: receiving a request from a mobile device to present content, including image data, on a display device; receiving a graphical representation associated with a user; receiving location information associated with the mobile device; receiving display device information associated with display devices, including location information associated with that display device; selecting, without user input, a first display device on which to present the content based on the location information associated with the mobile device and the location information associated with each of the plurality of display devices; and in response to selecting the first display device, causing both the graphical representation associated with the user of the mobile device and the content to be presented by the first display device.

Methods, systems, and media for presenting advertisements relevant to nearby users on a public display device are provided. In some implementations, a method for presenting content on a public display device, the method comprising: receiving location information associated with mobile devices that is indicative of a position of the mobile device relative to a display device associated with a retail outlet; receiving interests associated with the mobile devices; identifying a plurality of advertising sources associated with the display device, including a retailer associated with the retail outlet; determining a topic based on the received interests and the location information associated with the mobile devices; determining that the topic is related an advertisement associated with the retailer; causing the advertisement associated with the retailer to be selected based on the topic; and causing the selected advertisement to be presented by the display device.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for displaying content. In accordance with one implementation, a computer-implemented method is provided that comprises operations performed by one or more processors, including receiving a first query from a first user, displaying a first set of content based on the first query in a first region of a graphical display, the first region being associated with a physical location of the first user, receiving a second query from a second user, and displaying a second set of content based on the second query in a second area of the graphical display, the second region being associated with a physical location of the second user. The method also comprises displaying a third set of content relating to the first query and the second query in a third region of the graphical display that is viewable by the first user and the second user.
