Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing augmented information for vehicle multi-function display electronics are provided. In one a method for providing augmented information for vehicle multi-function display (MFD) electronics comprises: receiving via a downlink communication, a vehicle profile comprising an MFD Profile descriptive of how a pilot is currently utilizing a cockpit MFD; determining whether an MFD map application is displaying information on the cockpit MFD based on the MFD Profile; when the MFD map application is determined to be displaying information on the cockpit MFD: defining a set of potential information enhancements based on the vehicle profile; collecting information corresponding to the set of potential information enhancements from one of more data sources; transmitting an uplink communication comprising an Augmented Map Profile, wherein the Augmented Map Profile comprises the information corresponding to the set of potential information enhancements.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of displaying hazard reports to a pilot of a first aircraft by receiving position and trajectory data from a neighbouring aircraft and identifying, using at least one criterion, whether a potential hazard report received from the neighbouring aircraft would indicate a potential hazard for the first aircraft on the basis of the received aircraft positional data and aircraft trajectory data. On the basis of this identification, displaying a representation of a neighbouring aircraft when it is identified that a potential hazard report received from the neighbouring aircraft would indicate a potential hazard for the first aircraft, and causing a receiving module of the first aircraft to begin selectively receiving hazard reports from the neighbouring aircraft.
Abstract:
A system and method is provided that displays graphical symbology that enables a pilot to rapidly discern (1) that a neighboring aircraft is a rotorcraft, and (2) whether the rotorcraft is hovering. The provided system and method enables a user to define hovering, by editing a position change (distance) within a predetermined time.
