The present invention provides a process for producing an acetylenediol continuously by reacting a ketone with acetylene in the presence of an alkali catalyst, which process comprises continuously feeding, into a first-stage reactor, a reaction solvent, an alkali catalyst, a ketone and acetylene to give rise to a reaction, continuously introducing the reaction mixture into a second-stage reactor, and continuously feeding a fresh portion of the same ketone into the second-stage reactor to give rise to a reaction.

A disproportionation catalyst for olefins and a process for disproportionation of olefins using said catalyst are disclosed. The catalyst is a mixture of one part by weight of a first catalyst component comprising silica gel carrying thereon a tungsten oxide or its precursor and a Group I metal oxide or a compound convertible to Group I metal oxide; and 8-75 parts by weight of a second catalyst component which is alumina having a specific surface area of 20-120 m.sup.2 /g, and preferably carrying thereon a Group I or Group III metal oxide or a compound convertible to such an oxide. It exhibits a remarkably extended life of disporportionation activity and is thus applicable to the industrial use. The catalyst, therefore, can produce industrially useful compounds at a low cost by the application of the olefin disproportionation.

To provide a novel ABA-type triblock copolymer of vinyl ether series, comprising polyvinyl ether and an oxystyrene-series unit, and a process of producing the ABA-type copolymer at a series of steps. The invention relates to a novel ABA-type triblock copolymer comprising Segment A comprising an oxystyrene-series repeat unit (a) and Segment B comprising a vinyl ether-series repeat unit (b), in which the Segment A and the Segment B are bonded together with a single bond, and to a simple process of producing the same. The triblock copolymer can be produced at a series of steps in a simple manner, comprising living cationic polymerization of a vinyl ether-series monomer such as ethyl vinyl ether in the presence of a bifunctional initiator and a Lewis acid, and subsequently adding an oxystyrene-series monomer such as p-hydroxystyrene for living cationic polymerization.
