    Abstract: An improved gaseous discharge display device is disclosed for providing a multicolor capability with nominal modification of existing gaseous display technology. A dielectric glass over the conductor array on the viewing side of the device is doped with discrete transition elements arranged in a predetermined configuration, such elements being adapted to generate a specific color dot when the associated site is energized by appropriate selection signals. The panel is fabricated essentially as a conventional gaseous discharge panel, and requires no substantial modification of existing addressing and control circuitry.

    Abstract: Improved waveforms are provided for a gas panel of the type in which light emitting cells are formed in an ionizable medium at the crossover points of set of horizontally and vertically extending insulated wires. The waveforms include a relatively wide, low amplitude, component and a relatively narrow, high amplitude, component that are individually incapable of producing an avalanche ionization but in combination produce ionization for write, erase, and sustain operations. The write-erase circuits associated with these waveforms have lower operating voltages, and the new sustain waveform provides improved operating margins.

    Abstract: In a data processing system, apparatus for synchronizing a slave clock in an input/output device with a master clock in a central processing unit. A set of clock signals from a CPU are received in parallel, converted to serial and pulses are generated in response to the leading and trailing edge of each of the series of signals. The series of pulses is then delayed and shaped to drive a slaved I/O clock. A delay line is adjusted so that the total equivalent system delay is equal to an integral number of CPU pulse durations.
