Abstract: A connection element for electrically contacting tension members embedded into a matrix material of a load-bearing belt for an elevator system has a frame with an upper part, a lower part and multiple electrically conductive contact elements. The frame is shaped to receive the belt in an interior space delimited at at least two opposite sides. The contact elements are formed as stamped and bent metal parts, and some regions of the contact elements are arranged in the upper part of the frame with other regions protruding from the upper part of the frame into the interior space, for example in the form of piercing tips, in order to contact the tension members embedded in the portion of the belt received in the interior space.

Abstract: A suspension member arrangement for an elevator includes a suspension member having a plurality of electrically conductive load-bearing cords commonly embedded in an electrically isolating matrix material, a first connector and a second connector each attached to the suspension member and electrically contacting the cords within the suspension member in a contacted end region thereof. The first connector electrically contacts and electrically interconnects in parallel a first group of the cords being a first plurality of directly neighboring ones of the cords. The second connector electrically contacts and electrically interconnects in parallel a second group of the cords being a second plurality of directly neighboring ones of the cords. The suspension member arrangement facilitates electrically contacting the cords of the suspension member using a simple type of connector whereby deteriorations in characteristics of the suspension member can be electrically detected with high accuracy.

Abstract: A method determines a status of at least one component of an elevator system, wherein the elevator system includes a suspension apparatus having at least one traction member. The at least one traction member is surrounded by a non-metallic cladding, wherein the suspension apparatus is guided via a drive sheave with a metallic traction surface. The method includes the steps of: identifying at least one parameter based on an electrostatic effect which occurs due to friction of the non-metallic cladding on the traction sheave with the metallic traction surface; and determining a status of the at least one component on the basis of the identified parameter.

Abstract: A method and a monitoring device determine a wear state of components such as a cable-like suspension means, a traction sheave of a drive machine and deflection rollers of a suspension means arrangement of an elevator system. The method comprises at least the following steps: monitoring an actual time curve of a first parameter which correlates with the wear state of at least one first monitored component of the components; comparing the actual time curve of the monitored first parameter with a predetermined expected time curve of the first parameter; and determining the wear state of the monitored component based on a result of the comparison.

Abstract: A roller for an elevator system has a roller body made of a metal material and a shell made of a POM material forming a running surface of the elevator roller. The shell and the roller body each have a wave profile running in a circumferential direction on a shared contact surface, wherein the shell has, on the running surface, a V-ribbed profile aligned with the wave profile of the roller body that has a rib spacing which substantially corresponds to a wave spacing of the wave profile. Abstract: A method for detecting a deterioration state in an elevator suspension member including electrically conductive cords uses a multiplexing unit (MU) to apply first and second alternating voltages to proximal ends of first and second groups of the cords respectively and connect the proximal end of a third group of the cords to a voltage measurement arrangement connected to a reference potential. Distal ends of the groups are connected together. A first neutral point voltage between the third proximal end and the reference potential is determined. The MU is switched to apply the first alternating voltage to the second proximal end, apply the second alternating voltage to the third proximal end and determine a second neutral point voltage between the first proximal end and the reference potential. The deterioration state of the suspension member arrangement is determined based on the first and second neutral point voltages.

Abstract: An elevator installation has a car at least partially supported by a support including several electrically conductive tension-bearing elements, which elements are arranged parallel to each other and which are substantially surrounded by a jacket. The support is fastened to fastening devices, wherein the fastening devices each include a housing and a clamping element. The housing and the clamping element each have clamping surfaces, between which surfaces the support is clamped. An electrically insulating material is arranged between at least one side of the support and the clamping surfaces arranged thereon. The electrically insulating material electrically isolates the support from the housing or the clamping element or both.
