摘要: The scour jet array system includes a pump, both fresh water and surface er intakes, an automatic water mixing valve, a chemical buffer injector, a water heater, a series of scour jets with control valves, and a central control system. The control system senses the beginning of ebb tide for starting an initial scour jet, and as each jet scours the freshly deposited mud from the area, temperature, salinity and pH of the surface suction intake water are measured to determine the amount of fresh water injection, chemical buffer injection, water heating and duty cycle time in order to minimize the energy required to scour the sediments from the area.

摘要: An apparatus for preventing sedimentation buildup in waterways having a current, the apparatus being submergible at a location proximate the edge of the waterway and adapted to produce a scour pattern of predetermined configuration. The apparatus includes an elongated, substantially vertical tubular member having an inlet assembly connected proximate the upper end of the tubular member; a turbine fan unit mounted interiorly of the inlet assembly for controllably drawing water into the apparatus; and a discharge assembly connected to the tubular member proximate its lower end for directing the flow of water outwardly from the tubular member in generally horizontal direction at an optimum flow rate.

摘要: The present invention provides a composition comprising ziprasidone useful in the treatment and prevention of schizophrenia and similar psychiatric disorders. In one embodiment, the composition comprises nanoparticulate particles comprising ziprasidone and at least one surface stabilizer. The nanoparticulate particles have an effective average particle size of less than about 2000 nm. In another embodiment, the composition comprises a modified release composition that, upon administration to a patient, delivers ziprasidone in a bimodal, multimodal or continuous manner. The invention also relates to dosage forms containing such compositions, and to methods for the treatment and prevention of schizophrenia and similar psychiatric disorders.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a composition comprising a nanoparticulate cyclosporine having improved bioavailability. The nanoparticulate cyclosporine particles of the composition have an effective average particle size of less than about 2000 nm in diameter and are useful in the prevention and treatment of organ transplant rejection and autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other related diseases. The invention also relates to a controlled release composition comprising a cyclosporine or a nanoparticulate cyclosporine that in operation delivers the drug in a pulsed or bimodal manner for the prevention and treatment of organ transplant rejection and autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other related diseases.

摘要: A buoyant high aspect ratio delta wing having an inverted airfoil shape for producing a downward lift force is anchored at a negative angle of attack adjacent the bottom of a waterway having a current. The net vertical deflection and turbulent trailing wake generated as the water flows past the wing prevents sediments from depositing on the bottom of the waterway for a predetermined distance downstream of the wing. Cascading arrays of such wings may be anchored in succession along the waterway to resuspend sediments and thereby maintain sufficient water depth for navigation while avoiding the cost and environmental drawbacks of dredging.
