Abstract: The present invention relates to a wheel trim member that maintains a very low profile substantially against a front or rear wheel, depending upon its application. The trim member has at least one, and preferably at least two, discs for receipt of wheel studs. This disc has external threads which are received by a disc cover which holds trim member against wheel. Lug nut covers are then placed over the remaining unencapsulated lug nuts to achieve consistent aesthetic appearance.

Abstract: Apparatus for calibrating and testing infrared detection devices is provided. The apparatus comprises a substrate which supports a target pattern of dielectric material which is at least partially absorbing to infrared radiation. A heater is used to supply heat to the substrate. Since the substrate and dielectric material have different emissivities, an apparent temperature difference is perceived by an IR detection device. As a consequence, temperature differences as low as about 0.02.degree. C. and below can be generated for calibrating and testing IR imaging devices.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an expandable ring system for attaching a wheel liner to a wheel. The wheel liner has clips attached to it. Through these clips, there is sliceable placed a ring. The ring surrounds all but one of the lug nuts and lies within the offset along an outer circumference of the lug nuts. However, the ring loops into the inner circumference of proximal one of the lug nuts to lengthen or shorten the ring. The ring can then be crimped to tighten the ring against the lug nuts. A spring can also be provided to surround all of the lug nuts along the outer circumference. Prior to placing the wheel liner on the wheel, the ring can be set at the desired length so that it frictionally fits over the desired lug nuts.

Abstract: The present system discloses a universal wheel trim attachment system in which a wheel liner is attached to a wheel under the wheel lug nuts. Universal wheel trim attachment system has a center piece which can act as a hub cover. Surrounding the opening is a plateau on substantially an X-axis and perpendicular to a Y-axis. Around the plateau there is placed a first incline. Around the first incline there is placed a ledge which merely shows the change in direction between a first incline and a second incline which surrounds the first incline. A valley surrounds the second incline. A ridge surrounds the valley. A lip surrounds the ridge and rests upon the outer portions of the wheel. The wheel liners are also provided with lug holes, oval holes, and hand holes.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a wheel trim attachment system that uses a continuous attachment ring having mounting brackets which are pivotally and/or slidably attached to it thereby allowing it to be adjustable for different configurations of wheels. Additionally, the pivoting allows use for either a large diameter such as a spoked wheel or a small diameter such as a standard wheel. The attachment bracket receives an existing lug. Jam nuts are then placed over the bracket to hold the attachment bracket onto the existing lugs. Attachment screws are placed through holes in the liner and are received by mounting lips attached to the attachment ring to coordinate and correspond to the holes in the liner.

The collar is sized to fit within the offset of lug nut pairs. A bias member such as a rubber band can be used or any other kind of elastic member can be used to keep the yoke on the lug nut pairs. Abstract: A wheel trim attachment system using stud extenders for attachment to either a front or rear wheel of a motor vehicle. The device is designed such that the same stud extender can be used for the front wheel as can be used for the rear wheel. The stud extenders allow attachment of the decorative trim member without removal of an existing lug. One embodiment of the trim member allows for attachment of a stud extender even where there are insufficient threads on a wheel stud above a wheel lug.
