    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display comprising a first substrate, a second substrate opposed the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate, a light-shielding layer including a first light-shield formed along a first direction and a second light-shield formed along a second direction and crossing the first light-shield, and a spacer which maintains a gap between the first substrate and the second substrate, the spacer overlapping a crossing region where the first light-shield and the second light-shield cross each other and including an exposed region outside the light-shielding layer in a planar view.

    Abstract: A display device includes: a plurality of sub-pixels each including a memory block that includes a plurality of memories each of which is configured to store sub-pixel data; a plurality of memory selection line groups provided to respective rows and each including a plurality of memory selection lines electrically coupled to the corresponding memory blocks in the sub-pixels that belong to a corresponding row; a memory selection circuit configured to simultaneously output a memory selection signal to the memory selection line groups, the memory selection signal being a signal for selecting one from the plurality of memories in each of the memory blocks. In accordance with the memory selection lines supplied with the memory selection signal, the sub-pixels display an image based on the sub-pixel data stored in memories in the respective sub-pixels, the memories each being one of the plurality of memories in the corresponding sub-pixel.

    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a unit pixel including first to fourth sub-pixels exhibiting different colors, each of the first to fourth sub-pixels includes first to third segments for displaying 3-bit gradation, the first segment being a rectangular region including first to fourth sides, the second segment being an L-letter region located on a side closer to a geometric center of the unit pixel than the first segment and formed along the first and second sides which intersect each other, the third segment being an L-letter region located on a side farther from the geometric center than the first segment and formed along the third and fourth sides which intersect each other.

    Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes: a display unit; a lighting unit emitting internal light; a measurement unit; and a control unit controlling an intensity of the internal light and a gradation value of each pixel in the display unit. The control unit calculates a required luminance value for a luminance value of a pixel to be N times as high as a luminance value indicated by an input signal, the pixel performing output with the largest gradation value out of the pixels in a predetermined image display region. The control unit determines the intensity of the internal light based on an intensity of the external light measured by the measurement unit and the required luminance value, and calculates an output gradation value based on the gradation value indicated by input signal, the intensity of the external light, and the intensity of the internal light.

    Abstract: An input device includes a first substrate, a light-emitting element, and a third electrode unit. The first substrate has first and second surfaces. The light-emitting element unit includes: a first conductive electrode unit including first conductive layers; a second conductive electrode unit including second conductive layers each having a size overlapping with the first conductive layer in planar view; and luminescent layers conducted with at least a part of the first electrode unit, each provided between the first and second electrode units and conducted with the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer overlapping with the first conductive layer in planar view. The third electrode unit is insulated from the first conductive layers and detects a change in an electric field between the first conductive layers and the third electrode unit depending on coordinates of a proximity object at a position overlapping with the first surface in planar view.
