摘要: An activated carbon/polyacene composite is disclosed. The composite contains activated carbon powder or fiber and having a selected molar ratio range of hydrogen atoms [H] to carbon atoms [C] of 0.01.ltoreq.[H]/[C].ltoreq.0.2. It provides two or more times the capacitance per unit volume, and enables reduction of the equivalent series resistance of an electric double-layer capacitor without compression. It therefore is a suitable composite for use as polarizable electrodes for electric double-layer capacitors. The composite can be made by mixing activated carbon powder or fiber and a thermosetting resin powder such as phenolin resin powder, and subjecting the mixture to heat treatment in a nonoxidizing atmosphere at temperatures between 600.degree. and 1000.degree. C. which is insufficient to reach full carbonization of the thermosetting resin.

摘要: In an electric double layer capacitor, a pair of conductive layers are formed on a pair of electrically insulating substrates, respectively.A pair of polarizable electrodes are sandwiched between the conductive layers and an ionically conducting separator is interposed between the polarizable electrodes. The polarizable electrodes are preferably made of activated carbon/polyacene composite. This invention realizes to form a plurality of elements electrically insulated on the same substrate, because it is possible to form the electric double layer capacitors using the electrically insulated substrate. More, it is possible to arrange a plurality of elements in line on the same substrate by designing conductive layers forming on the electrically insulating substrates, so that the electric double layer capacitors of which breakdown voltage is high and the height is low are obtained.

摘要: An electric double layer capacitor is proposed which is constructed by sandwiching a laminated body of a pair of polarizable electrodes consisting of a porous solid conductive material each impregnated with an electrolytic solution and a platelike ion permeating separator member, between a pair of collectors for external connection terminals, and housing the aggregate in a gasket, wherein the gap between the inner surface of the gasket and the outer surface of the laminated body is filled with an auxiliary electrolytic solution. The auxiliary electrolytic solution consists of glass fibers or water absorbing polymer impregnated with gelatinous electrolytic solution or a liquid electrolytic solution, and replenishes the lost portion due to evaporation and leakage of the electrolytic solution of the electric double layer capacitor. Moreover, this auxiliary electrolytic solution acts as a buffer to mechanical impact externally applied to the capacitor. Therefore, the electric double layer capacitor according to this invention has excellent resistance to high temperature and resistance to impact.

摘要: The invention provides a polarizable electrode composed of activated carbon/carbon composite having micropores among which micropores having a diameter ranging from 0.1 to 5.0 micrometers have a volume ranging from 0.1 to 1.2 cm.sup.3 /g. The composite further has a specific surface area equal to or greater than 1000 m.sup.2 /g, and a density equal to or greater than 0.5 g/cm.sup.3. The micropores having a diameter of micrometers order to be formed in the polarizable electrode in accordance with the invention, facilitate the movement of ions in the electrode. Thus, it is possible to accomplish a polarizable electrode suitable for a larger amount of current discharge.

摘要: To enable a bunch of sheets to be reliably discharged to a stack tray, also in the case where weight of the bunch of sheets formed on a processing tray is large, upon receiving a printing command, a main body control section checks information on an ink discharge amount in printing on a sheet, the number of sheets, sheet type and printing mode (two-side/one-side). By this means, the section recognizes weight of the bunch of sheets formed on the processing tray, and when determining that the weight is heavier than predetermined weight, deceases an upper limit value of the number of sheets of a bunch of sheets formed at a time to report to a user.

摘要: To enable a bunch of sheets to be reliably discharged to a stack tray, also in the case where weight of the bunch of sheets formed on a processing tray is large, a post-processing control section receives information on an ink discharge amount, the number of sheets, sheet type, and printing mode (two-side/one-side) in printing on sheets from a main body control section of an image forming unit A, in forming a bunch of sheets on the processing tray. The control section thereby recognizes weight of a bunch of sheets formed on the processing tray, and when the section determines that the weight is heavier than predetermined weight, decreases a rotation velocity of a drive motor of a sheet bunch transport means, or increases a current amount applied to the drive motor. By this means, torque of the motor is increased, and the bunch of sheets is reliably discharged to the first stack tray.

摘要: A sheet post-processing device includes a conveying section that conveys a paper sheet; a punch section that punches punch holes in the paper sheet conveyed by the conveying section; a stacker section that stores the paper sheet in which the punch holes are punched by the punch section; a binding section that binds a paper sheet bundle stored in the stacker section with a binding member; and a controller that controls the above sections. The controller selectively performs a ring binding mode and a direct binding mode. The ring binding mode is a mode in which punch holes are punched in the paper sheet by the punch section and then the binding member is made to penetrate the punch holes for binding. The direct binding mode is a mode in which the binding member is directly driven into the paper sheet bundle without punching the punch holes in the sheet.

摘要: In performing press binding with a pair of pressurizing surfaces opposed to each other with sheets nipped therebetween, one of the pressurizing surfaces is configured to shift to positions relatively to the other pressurizing surface, and a shift section is provided in the pressurizing surface that shifts to positions. An apparatus for applying narrow pressure to a plurality of sheets with a pair of pressurizing surfaces to perform press binding is provided with first and second pressurizing surfaces opposed to each other with sheets nipped therebetween, and a pressurization driver that shifts a position of at least one of the first and second pressurizing surfaces from a waiting position separated to an actuation position for coming into press-contact.
