摘要： A waterproof connector is provided with a moving support plate without requiring an increase in size of the connector. A moving plate (40) has a shape whereby a side wall (42) protrudes upwards from circumference edges of a base plate (41) having maintaining holes (44) adapted to receive tabs (24) of male terminal fittings. This moving plate (40) can be inserted in a movable manner within a hood (22) of male housing (20). A first sealing ring (51), for sealing the space between the moving plate (40) and an outer circumference face of the female housing (10), is formed on an attachment base of an inner circumference face of an anterior end (42A) of the side wall (42). A second sealing ring (52), for sealing the space between the moving plate (40) and in inner circumference face of the posterior end (42B) of the side wall (42). These sealing rings (51) and (52) are formed in a unified manner, by means of two-component molding, on the moving plate (40).

A window hole 36 is formed in a moving plate 30, at least a portion of the retainer 40 protruding towards the anterior from this window hole 36. Consequently, the retainer 40 can be pushed in, and other operations can be performed thereto, from the anterior of the moving plate 30. That is, the retainer 40 can be attached from the anterior to the connector housing 10.

摘要： A connector including a connector housing with a retainer attachment hole that receives and stabilizes a retainer as it is inserted into the connector housing. The retainer attachment hole extends into an anterior face of the connector housing. Male terminal fittings inserted into the connector housing are maintained therein by a removal preventing member of the retainer that is inserted into the retainer attachment hole. Guiding members formed on the retainer enter the retainer attachment hole before the removal preventing member enters therein. Consequently, the retainer is stabilized and maintained in position relative to the connector housing while it is being attached to the retainer attachment hole.

Upon being moved from a partial locking position to a full locking position, A retainer (7) can be moved from a partial locking position to a full locking position and is guided obliquely forward by guides (22-25). Thus, the retainer (7) can be constantly guided to a specified position regardless of a variation in the fitted position of the retainer (7) in the retainer mount hole (8) along forward and backward directions. Since the retainer (7) and terminal fittings (4) can constantly have a proper positional relationship, a problem of a varying function of the retainer (7) to detect the insufficiently inserted states of the terminal fittings (4) due to a variation in the fitted position of the retainer (7) can be solved.

Elongated projections (50) extend from a surface of the main body (11) opposite the stabilizer (17). If the male terminal fitting (10) is inserted upside down, the elongated projections (50) contact a bottom wall (24B) at the entrance of a cavity (24) during the insertion to shift the male terminal fitting (10) transversely. Thus, the stabilizer (17) is caught deeply by a ceiling wall (24C) at the entrance. As a result, the male terminal fitting (10) is prevented from any further insertion.

A slanted guide surface (22) is formed at the peripheral rear edge of each cavity (11) for guiding the female terminal fitting (30) into the cavity (11) and is slanted at an obtuse angle to an inserting direction of the female terminal fitting (30). A stabilizer-inserting groove (20) is formed in a surface of the cavity (11) and has an open rear end into which a stabilizer (47) of the female terminal fitting (30) is insertable. A preventing surface (27) is provided at the peripheral rear edge of the cavity (11) and abuts the stabilizer (47) when the female terminal fitting (30) is inserted in an improper posture. An angle of the preventing surface (27) to the inserting direction is less than an angle of the slanted guide surface (22).

摘要： The invention provides a waterproof connector in which a seal is maintained around a bolt without having to increase the number of components. A bolt 39 is passed through a through hole 36 of a bolt attachment member 35, this bolt 39 being passed from a countersunk hole 46 of a grommet 40 attached so as to cover a posterior face of a female housing 30. A nut 26 of a male housing 20 is fastened to this bolt 39, this fastening the two housings 20 and 30 together. A circular sealing member 50 is formed in a manner whereby it adjoins a central hole 47 of a base face 46A of the countersunk hole 46, a shaft 39A of the bolt 39 passing through this sealing member 50 in a manner whereby it fits tightly therewith. The sealing member 50 fits into a housing hole 53 of the bolt attachment member 35. If electric wires are pulled so as to cause a tubular member 45 to change shape, the base face 46A of the countersunk hole 46 may receive a pulling force which causes it to change shape and move outwards relative to the direction of its diameter. However, the adjoining sealing member 50 has been fitted into the housing hole 53, thus preventing the sealing member 50 from changing shape. Consequently, a seal is reliably maintained around the shaft 39A of the bolt 39.
