Abstract: A method and apparatus for changing a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) cycle in a wireless communication system is provided. A wireless device configures a short DRX cycle and a long DRX cycle. When the wireless device receives a PDCCH indicating a new data transmission, it determines that the short DRX cycle is used and a running drxShortCycleTimer is stopped for the DRX operation. Discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle can be configured flexibly according to the new data transmission and a CSI report between the UE and the eNB can be complied with accurately and frequently.
