摘要: An improved asymmetric wire-hook for a closure one-piece latch wire retainer pivotally mounted to a hinged member wherein the hook is latched upon rotation through an elongated slot of an anchor member. The retainer includes axially aligned wire-lengths terminating in spaced apart opposed bend portions interconnected by the wire-hook. The wire-hook includes one end of a long finger connected to one bend portion and sloped downwardly at a predetermined obtuse-angle relative to one wire length and a short finger connected to the other bend portion and extending downwardly at a right angle relative to the remaining wire length. The long finger lower end terminates in a first acute-angled bend juncture connected to a proximate end of a single lead-in wire segment upwardly sloped at a relatively steep incline while the short finger lower end terminates in a second acute-angle bend juncture connected to a proximate end of a single lead-out wire segment upwardly sloped at a relatively flat incline. The single lead-in and lead-out segments minimizing frictional drag thereby reducing operator effort during closure latching and unlatching with the anchor member slot while the lead-out segment obviates hang-up with a downturned lip defining the slot upper edge.

摘要: An instrument panel structure is provided for an automotive vehicle. The instrument panel structure includes an energy absorbing panel member fabricated of a relatively rigid impact resistant material. The panel member has an upper portion adapted to accept head impacts of a vehicle occupant and a lower portion adapted to accept knee impact of a vehicle occupant. The upper portion is weakened with respect to the lower portion by providing spaced apart protuberances on the surface on the reverse side of the surface designed to be impacted so that it will give more readily under impact than does the lower portion.

摘要: A railroad vehicle truck having a single wheelset includes a pair of spaced side frames. The side frames are joined into a rigid unit by a pair of transversely positioned crossbars. The crossbars are positioned one each on each side of the wheelset which has its axle ends journaled in bearings carried in turn in a pedestal jaw centrally formed in each side frame. Projecting inwardly from each end of the side frames is a bracket which forms part of a set of upper pivot connections with an upper end of a swing arm. A laterally positioned crosstie assembly is joined through a pair of spaced end caps with a lower end of each swing arm to form a set of lower pivot connections. Each crosstie assembly end cap has a pair of spring cups containing a set of springs which operatively support a body of the railroad vehicle thereabove.

摘要: One-piece plastic actuation button for a vehicle seat adjuster providing ready snap-in interlocking capture of the button in a panel elongated opening while permitting smooth reciprocal travel therein. The button comprises an elongated head portion having its undersurface formed with a coextensive guide channel sized to receive therein a tongue portion of a seat adjust lever. The channel cooperates with upper and lower vertically spaced stem portions projecting normally from the button face to swing the tongue and operate the release lever. The upper stem portion is a push-in retainer comprising bifurcated mirror-image hook-halves defining a slotted intermediate space therebetween and two opposed outwardly divergent slopes terminating in a pair of undercut locking shoulders. The hook-halves are resiliently deformable between a normal inserted locking condition wherein the tongue portion is received in the intermediate space and a compressed condition wherein the slopes permit push-in insertion in the panel opening.

摘要: An improved railway truck friction shoe is provided. The contact point of the shoe slope face with the bolster and the spring center line of the shoe are substantially coincident; the contact point is substantially equidistant from the top and bottom edges of the shoe column face. The convex sloped surface of the shoe has a reduced crown radius, and the vertical face of the shoe has an increased length. The shoe is designed to provide a more even distribution of contact pressures across its column face. This results in a longer wear life for the shoe by providing for more uniform wear.
