Abstract: A chainsaw may include a saw chain; a guide bar, a sprocket, a prime mover, a housing, a sprocket cover, and a guide member. The guide bar, the housing and the sprocket cover may define a chain passage. The guide member may include a first facing surface having an arc shape centered on the rotation axis and a second facing surface having an arc shape centered on a position offset from the rotation axis. When the chainsaw is placed on a horizontal mounting surface and viewed in the direction along the rotation axis, an angle between (i) a straight line connecting the rotation axis and a position where the first facing surface and the second facing surface are connected and (ii) a horizontal plane may be in a range of −10 degrees to 25 degrees.

Abstract: A chainsaw includes a handle with a handgrip; an electric motor for endlessly moving a saw chain; a control unit for controlling rotation of the motor; and a main power switch switchable between an ON state and an OFF state. The handgrip is provided with a gripping detection device for detecting whether the handgrip is gripped by the worker, and the chainsaw is configured to, when the control unit is manipulated to deactivate the electric motor in a state in which the gripping detection device detects that the handgrip is gripped, maintain the main power switch in the ON state, and to, when the control unit is manipulated to deactivate the electric motor in a state in which the gripping detection device detects that the handgrip is not gripped, switch the main power switch to the OFF state.

Abstract: A hand-held electric power tool includes a main power SW provided in a motor housing, a trigger SW provided in a grip portion that protrudes from the motor housing, and a controller. The controller switches an operation mode to one of a drive enabled mode in which driving of the motor is enabled and a drive disabled mode in which driving of the motor is disabled, in accordance with a switching command from the main power SW. In the drive enabled mode, driving of the motor is controlled in accordance with a driving command input from the trigger SW. The controller switches the operation mode to the drive disabled mode in response to the driving of the motor being stopped due to stopping input of the drive command from the trigger SW.
