    Abstract: A dust collecting attachment includes a dust suction portion and a main body. The dust suction portion has a suction opening through which a tip tool is allowed to pass. The main body has a dust collection passage communicated with the dust suction portion and connectable to an external hose. The main body includes a suction space, an air vent hole, and an air vent operation portion. The suction space is communicated with the dust collection passage and has a suction port opening to a workpiece. The air vent hole opens the suction space to outside. The air vent operation portion normally closes the air vent hole and opens the air vent hole by a predetermined operation. The air vent operation portion is operated together with an operation of removing the main body from the workpiece to open the air vent hole.

Each of the battery mount parts (160 A, 160B) comprises a battery engaging part (161) configured to detachably engage with battery packs (170 A, 170B) by sliding the battery packs (170 A, 170B) relative to the battery engaging part (161) in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the tool bit (119). In a state in which at least one of the battery packs (170 A, 170B) is mounted on at least one of the battery mount parts (160 A, 160B), a length of the mounted battery in a driving axis extending direction is shorter than a length of the mounted battery in a cross direction.

    Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide rational structure for vibration proofing in hammering operation. A driving motor 110 and a striking mechanism 140 are provided in a first body element 101a, and a handle 109 and a battery mounting part 160 are provided in a second body element 101b. The first and second body elements 101a, 101b are moved with respect to each other via a biasing member 181 when vibration is caused by driving of the striking mechanism 140. Further, a first region 100a close to the striking mechanism 140 forms a long-distance moving region 200 in which the first and second body elements 101a, 101b move a longer distance in a longitudinal direction than in the second region 100b less close to the striking mechanism 140.

    Abstract: A hammer drill includes a housing, a tool holder, a hammering member, a gear, and a conversion member. The gear is switched to a first state where a rotation of the intermediate shaft is transmitted and a second state where the rotation of the intermediate shaft is not transmitted, and a mode switching member is configured to perform a switching operation of the state of the gear from an outside of the housing. The switching of the state of the gear by the mode switching member provides at least two operation modes of a hammer drill mode where the gear integrally rotates with the intermediate shaft to generate the rotation and a reciprocation of the hammering member on the tool holder and a hammer mode where the gear is separated from the rotation of the intermediate shaft to generate only the reciprocation of the hammering member.
