Abstract: Devices and methods for a microplate lid configured to cover a microwell assay plate are provided. A microplate lid includes a lid panel surrounded by a lid frame. Sidewalls extend downwardly from lid frame. The microplate lid includes various features to improve performance, including features to improve stickability, reduce warping, reduce sample contamination, reduce wear, reduce sample evaporation, facilitate robotic handling, and provide other benefits.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an automated assay system adapted to receive consumables in the conduct of an assay. The assay system includes at least one of a loading cart, a door support system, a waste storage unit, and a robotic subsystem. The loading cart is configured to organize and transport consumables necessary for the performance of the assay system. The door support system is configured to maintain stability of doors of the automated assay system. The waste storage unit is configured to provide convenient disposal of consumables associated with the automated assay system. The robotic subsystem is configured to transport consumables within the automated assay system.

Abstract: A gripper assembly for a robotic arm includes a gripper finger having a first end and a second end, a gripper pad pivotably coupled to the gripper finger such that the gripper pad is permitted to rotate about a rotational axis relative to the gripper finger, the gripper pad having a pair of sides with one of the sides forming a gripping surface configured to grip an object, and a proximal side located between the pair of sides, and a gripper pad aligner including a pad alignment element coupled to the gripper pad and a finger alignment element coupled to the gripper finger, wherein the pad alignment element is coupled to the finger alignment element and configured to apply an aligning torque to the gripper pad that, when applied, rotates the gripper pad toward a first angular orientation about the rotational axis between the gripper pad and the gripper finger.
