    摘要: A vehicle exterior lamp is provided with an array of light emitting diodes (LEDs) with rows and columns and each LED positioned at an intersection thereof. An LED is illuminated by selectively applying a signal to the row and column corresponding to the LED position. A vehicle headlamp lighting system is provided with an array of LEDs with rows and columns, and each LED positioned at a row and column intersection. The lighting system has a control module for selectively illuminating the LEDs by applying a signal to the rows and to the columns corresponding to the location of the LEDs to be illuminated. A vehicle headlamp is provided with an optical structure for reflection and refraction of light and LEDs. Light emitted by the LEDs interacts with the optical structure and exits the headlamp in a generally perpendicular direction to the LED emitted light.

    摘要: An adaptive front-lighting system is provided for a vehicle, such as a passenger car, truck, or tractor trailer. A plurality of LED light sources on the vehicle have a projection pattern for exterior illumination to supplement a main beam from a main light source. A power supply drives the LED light sources according to a driving signal having a magnitude between a minimum driving signal and a maximum driving signal, wherein the LED light sources sequentially illuminate in response to the magnitude of the driving signal. A speed sensor characterizes an instantaneous vehicle speed. A turn sensor characterizes an instantaneous turning radius. A fuzzy controller generates the driving signal in response to the instantaneous vehicle speed and the instantaneous turning radius based on a fuzzy model. The fuzzy model is characterized by a plurality of empirically-derived fuzzy rules that define discontinuous values and by a plurality of modified consequents that produce a substantially continuous output.

    摘要: An integrated heads-up display (HUD) and cluster projection panel assembly for a motor vehicle includes a housing and a display unit contained within the housing. The display unit has first and second pixel arrays which turn on and off for forming first and second image light beams in response to receiving light. A HUD unit is contained within the housing. The HUD unit has a first converter for transmitting light to the first pixel array of the display unit. The HUD unit further has a first projection optic for projecting the first image light beam from the first pixel array of the display unit onto a windscreen of the motor vehicle. A cluster projection panel unit is contained within the housing. The cluster projection panel has a second converter for transmitting light to the second pixel array of the display unit. The cluster projection panel unit further has a second projection optic for projecting the second image light beam from the second pixel array of the display unit onto a cluster projection screen of the motor vehicle.

    摘要: Keypad indicia are integral with a window of a vehicle. The keypad indicia are formed using a ultra-violet (UV) fluorescent dye that is nearly invisible to a human eye until exposed to UV light. A UV light emitting device of the vehicle is configured for outputting UV light. The light emitting device is mounted for enabling the keypad indicia to be exposed to the outputted UV light thereby causing the keypad indicia to become readily visible by the human eye. An imaging device of the vehicle captures user interaction with the keypad indicia while the keypad indicia is exposed to the outputted UV light. The keypad interaction processor determines if a sequence of body part movements with respect to the keypad indicia that is captured by the imaging device during exposure of the keypad indicia to the outputted light corresponds to an access code of the vehicle.
