Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and system allowing terminal hosted group activities is provided, whereby proximity and non-proximity connections between a hosting mobile terminal and participating terminals enables group hosting activity. The hosting mobile terminal guides information flow between itself, the participating terminals, and optionally, with network servers that may assist the hosting mobile terminal. The hosting mobile terminal provides group management, profiling, downloading, presence, gaming, payment/charging, and authentication functions either in terminal only mode, or alternatively in conjunction with server assistance.
Abstract:
An apparatus, system, method and computer product and medium are provided to implement operations of defining a group presence profile for a group of individual entities, the group presence profile having group attributes associated therewith; obtaining presence information for the individual entities of the group; and managing presence information for the group according to the defined group presence profile and the presence information of the individual entities.
Abstract:
A system and method uses presence information to enhance group management functions. The presence enhanced group management allows sharing of information between group members, management of availability and contact information associated with the group members, and group/group member availability definitions having a variety of various meanings within the scope of a group definition. The presence enhanced group management functions allow groups and their associated presence information to function as mediators of all types of information between members of the group to include synchronization of calendars and task lists. Group based channels of communication are also facilitated to support message exchange between the group members.
Abstract:
An apparatus including a processor configured to move automatically a sub-set of pixels defining a target captured image within a larger set of available pixels in a direction of an edge of the target captured image when a defined area of interest within the target captured image approaches the edge of the target captured image and configured to provide a pre-emptive user output when the sub-set of pixels approaches an edge of the set of available pixels.
Abstract:
Mobile wireless devices include a Service Trial Client that establishes a link to a Service Trial Server to set up temporary trials of online services. The Service Trial Client and Service Trial Server enable a service provider to attract potential customers with free trial subscriptions to an online service for a limited period of time. The trial subscription can be shared with friends of the customer for the limited period of time, thereby enabling the service provider to attract a larger number of potential customers. Monitoring logic is included in the Service Trial Server to review the record of each trial service subscriber on a periodic basis and to prompt the subscriber and the subscriber's friends to subscribe the service provider's normal paid-subscription service at the end of the trial period. The result is a complete over-the-air service trial and subscription tool that integrates discovery, trial and subscription functions for online services.
Abstract:
A camera having a depth of field which can be modified to produce desired photographic effects. The camera determines the depth of field for a subject when the subject is focused upon. A modification to the depth of field is determined based upon the distance to the subject, and the depth of field is modified to produce the desired photographic effect. In one embodiment, the depth of field is reduced, while, in another embodiment, the depth of field is shifted to place the subject slightly out of focus and to alter the focus of the background.

Abstract:
A changeover arrangement for the clock signals of parallel transmission connections of an assured data transmission link, wherein a clock signal is sent for the transmission paths by parallel outdoor units (OU) located in succession to a common indoor unit (IU), the clock signal is received by a corresponding set of second outdoor units, where phase locked loop signals are used to achieve the lock to the signal, and subsequent to which a second IU receives information of the mode of the phase lock. In addition, when errors are caused in the employed connection, the receiving unit selects a transmission path that has fewer errors based on mode information obtained from the outdoor unit.
Abstract:
A system and method for automatically determine whether an image captured by a digital camera should be stored in a raw format or a compressed format. After an image is captured by the digital camera, the digital camera checks certain sets of characteristics of the captured image to check the image quality. If the image quality falls within an acceptable range, then the digital camera saves the image in a compressed format. If the captured image does not fall within predetermined quality levels, then the captured image is save in raw format for later processing.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method and system allows organization terminal (402) to define a group session based upon location and other criteria associated with participating terminals (410). Location criteria may include cell definition (110), group definition (126), and/or sub-group definition (130). Various components (404-408) may be utilized to perform application/location/management functions to determine the qualifications of each terminal of terminal group (410) to join the group. Once terminals (410) have been pre-qualified based upon their location and other group criteria, terminals (410) may accept an invitation to join the location based group session and begin application sharing, group chat sessions, and downloading as required to facilitate the location based group session.
