Abstract:
Disclosed are embodiments of methods and apparatuses for positioning user equipment (UE). A method for positioning UE may comprise calculating expected receiving time differences between respective expected times for the UE to receive positioning reference signals (PRSs) from a plurality of neighbor base stations respectively and an expected time for the UE to receive a PRS from a reference base station, determining a PRS timing offset to at least partially compensate for the expected receiving time difference of at least one of the plurality of neighbor base stations, and sending the PRS timing offset to the at least one of the plurality of neighbor base stations.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus may include determining that downlink communication is to be scheduled for transmission to user equipment. The method may also include scheduling the downlink communication. The method may also include scheduling uplink communication. The uplink communication is transmitted by user equipment to the network node. The uplink communication and the downlink communication are transmitted such that (1) uplink frequency resources are the same as downlink frequency resources, (2) uplink frequency resources are contained within downlink frequency resources, or (3) uplink frequency resources overlap with downlink frequency resources. The method may also include signaling user equipment to ignore a carrier sensing mechanism. User equipment transmits the uplink communication at a time specified by the network node.
Abstract:
Disclosed are devices for time synchronization offset identification and refinement for network based positioning in an unlicensed spectrum. An example network device may comprise at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code. The at least one memory and the computer program code may be configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the network device to receive listen-before-talk (LBT) outcomes from a plurality of base stations (BSs), and identify whether one or more of the plurality of BSs have a time synchronization offset based on the LBT outcomes. The LBT may be related to a reference signal (RS) configured on the BSs. The related methods, apparatuses and computer program product are also disclosed.
