Abstract: An endoscope system including a control section that controls an LED driving section to supply driving currents to LEDs of a plurality of colors to cause the LEDs to emit lights in a frame-sequential manner and a processor that divides a total exposure period in one frame period of the frame-sequential light emission into ratios of light emission periods for each of the respective colors obtained by dividing light amount ratios of the lights of the plurality of colors, which should be received in a CCD, respectively by respective maximum light emission intensities of the LEDs of the plurality of colors and sets respective maximum light emission periods of the LEDs of the plurality of colors.

Abstract: A light source apparatus includes a cooling device configured to be able to cool a semiconductor light-emitting device, a light-emitting device drive section that supplies a semiconductor light-emitting device drive signal to the semiconductor light-emitting device, a cooling device drive section that supplies a cooling device drive signal to the cooling device, a semiconductor light-emitting device drive control section that sets a duty ratio of the semiconductor light-emitting device drive signal and controls an amount of light emission of the semiconductor light-emitting device, and a cooling device drive control section that generates the cooling device drive signal having a same duty ratio as the duty ratio of the semiconductor light-emitting device drive signal and having timing synchronized with the semiconductor light-emitting device drive signal and adjusts a signal level of the cooling device drive signal based on a measurement result of a temperature of the semiconductor light-emitting device.

Abstract: An endoscope apparatus includes: first and second cooling units configured to cool first and second light source portions; an image pickup portion configured to generate a picked-up image; and a cooling control portion configured to control amounts of light emission of the light source portions while maintaining an amount-of-light ratio so that the brightness of the picked-up image becomes the target brightness and control cooling based on the information about the amount-of-light ratio and the brightness control information; wherein the cooling control portion decides a cooling capacity of the first cooling units and a cooling capacity of the second cooling units for cooling the respective light source portions for which the amounts of light emission are controlled, at the cooling ratio, so as to cause the light source portions to be included within a predetermined temperature range, based on the brightness control information.
