    摘要: A xerographic system (8) includes a moving photoreceptor (10) and multiple toner development systems (12, 14) arranged to selectively dispose regions of toner on the moving photoreceptor. A toner density sensor (40) is arranged to measure toner density on the moving photoreceptor over a sensor area (A). A toner coverage monitor (64) operatively connected with the toner density sensor (40) monitors toner coverage based on measurements by the toner density sensor of toner coverage calibration regions disposed on the moving photoreceptor by the multiple toner development systems. A spatial registration monitor (66) also operatively connected with the toner density sensor (40) monitors spatial registration of the multiple toner development systems based on measurements by the toner density sensor of spatial registration calibration regions disposed on the moving photoreceptor by the multiple toner development systems.

    摘要: A printing system and method is provided for adjusting image on paper (IOP) misregistration in a printing device. The method includes initiating marking of a substrate with a test pattern, the test pattern having at least one feature, and the marked substrate including at least two features including the at least one feature of the test pattern; sensing in a first sensing operation, as the substrate is transported in a process direction, a first feature of the marked substrate; sensing in a second sensing operation, as the substrate is transported in the process direction, a second feature of the marked substrate, wherein at least one of the first and second features is included in features of the test pattern; measuring a time differential between the sensing of the first and second features; and determining an IOP misregistration characteristic based on the measured time differential.

    摘要: In accordance with various embodiments, there are printing apparatuses and methods of enhancing an image quality on a media. The method of enhancing an image quality on a media can include providing an ink-based halftone image on a media, wherein the halftone image can include an amount of noise. The method can also include depositing a transparent overcoat layer at least over the halftone image, wherein the transparent overcoat layer can include a major amount of cross-linkable resin and a minor amount of a photoinitiator. The method can further include embossing the transparent overcoat layer to form an embossed micro-structured overcoat layer and curing the embossed micro-structured overcoat layer to form the micro-structured overcoat layer, such that the micro-structured overcoat layer reduces the amount of noise.
