    摘要: The image-forming apparatus includes multiple developing units that form images using multiple color developers, an image carrier that, in color displacement detection, carries the developers transferred thereon at mutually different image-carrying positions, an optical sensor that projects a light to the image carrier and receives a reflected light from the image carrier, and an acquirer that acquires, in response to output from the optical sensor, passage times at which the developers on the image carrier respectively pass a detection position. The optical sensor receives a diffusively reflected light from a non-transferred area of the image carrier on which the developers are not transferred. The acquirer acquires the passage times of all the developers, in response to changes in the output from the optical sensor at an output level higher than that corresponding to a diffusively reflected light from the developers on the image carrier.

    摘要: An image formation apparatus that includes: first to third image formation units provided in this order in a traveling direction of a transfer target medium; a detector configured to detect first to third correction pattern formed on the transfer target medium by the first to third image formation units, respectively; and a control unit programed to control image misregistration correction based on a result of detection by the detector. The control unit causes the first and third image formation units to form the first and third correction patterns on the transfer target medium, respectively. When an amount of image misregistration between the first correction pattern and the third correction pattern is less than a predetermined value, the control unit neither causes the second image formation unit to form the second correction pattern, nor executes the image misregistration correction.

    摘要: Precise correction of a position of a toner image formed by an image forming station can be accomplished in a device using two-component developer. An electrostatic latent image for forming a color misregistration correction pattern for color misregistration correcting includes a first latent image pattern and a second latent image pattern at a position downstream of the first latent image pattern with respect to the moving direction of the electrostatic latent image. The toner image resulting from the development of the first latent image pattern has a width, measured in the image moving direction, which is greater than that of the toner image resulting from the development of a latent image pattern alone, which is the same as the first latent image pattern, or the toner image resulting from the development of the first latent image pattern has an image density at a downstream end portion with respect to the moving direction, which density is higher than that of the toner image resulting from the development of the latent image pattern alone, which is the same as the first latent image pattern.

    摘要: The present invention includes an optical system disposed on an optical path of light that is emitted by a light emitting section, travels to a detection target object, is reflected by the detection target object, and reaches a light receiving section. The optical system, in a sub scanning direction, that is, the direction in which a detection target object is moving, collects light so that the light receiving section has, for light from the light emitting section, a regularly reflected light receiving area and a diffuse-reflected light receiving area that differ from each other in position within a predetermined range. The optical system, in a perpendicular direction that is perpendicular to the movement direction, refracts light so that a light receiving area, which covers the regularly reflected light receiving area and the diffuse-reflected light receiving area, is wider in the perpendicular direction than in the sub scanning direction.
